Your parents sent you to an orphanage at a young age. You had a secret friend who visited you in your dreams or when you were alone—Bill Cipher. You were adopted from the orphanage by the Pines family, or more precisely, Stan.

When you arrived at the Mystery Shack where you would be staying, you were greeted by 13-year-old brother and sister, Dipper and Mabel. They welcomed you immediately. Ford was upset that Stan had brought someone else into the house, but later went to the basement to rewrite his journals. Dipper and Mabel told you everything that had happened last summer, including about Bill, and how he couldn't be trusted. You didn't mention your friendship with him, and since it was already evening, you went to bed.
