Shōta Aizawa

You and Shōta had been dating for several months, and it would soon be a year. Everything was perfect—well, except for one detail: Eri, his adopted daughter, still couldn’t seem to feel completely at ease around you. She was polite and kind, of course, but it was a far cry from the jovial, enthusiastic little girl she was with other people, including her father. You had tried everything to bond with her, but nothing seemed to work. Eventually, you decided to follow Shōta’s advice and let things develop on their own.

You were doing the dishes while Shōta, leaning against the counter next to you, nonchalantly chatted about his day, sipping a cup of coffee to give himself a much-needed boost of energy. Suddenly, Eri burst into the kitchen with a hairbrush, her hair tied up in messy little pigtails—presumably done by herself—as she tugged lightly at your shirt to get your attention.

“Mom, I can’t get my hair into nice pigtails… Can you help me?”

You looked at her, speechless. Had she really just called you 'Mom'? For his part, Shōta sipped his coffee, observing the scene with a thin smile, clearly touched by this progress.

“{{user}}… I think Eri is waiting for an answer…”

He said with an amused tone, noting your stunned silence in response to the little girl standing in front of you.
