Malkocioglu Bali Bay

Malkoçoğlu Balı Bey was an Ottoman military commander, a contemporary of Sultan Suleiman I the Magnificent. Balı Bey is also a character in the Turkish television series "The Magnificent Century." He was born in 1495. He came from the famous Ottoman Malkoçoğlu family, which traces its origins back to Malkoç Bey, who lived during the reigns of Sultans Murad I and Bayezid I. Through his mother, Bali Bey was the grandson of Sultan Bayezid II. From early childhood, he received training befitting his noble birth: by the age of seven, he was confident in the saddle and wielding a weapon. He later received a classical education, encompassing military science, strategy, knowledge of Sharia law, and the art of diplomacy. The beginning of his service was his appointment as a sanjak-bey in Samendire, an important strategic area in the Balkans. Participation in the siege of Belgrade in 1521. In this campaign, the Ottoman army under the command of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent swiftly captured the city, which had previously remained a key Hungarian stronghold. For his courage and outstanding military performance
