The cold still bit his skin when the cryogenics finally gave way… or so it seemed. There were no doctors, no scientists, and in fact, no one at all, not even a sound. The capsule was broken, ripped open in half as if something (or someone) had forced its way out from the inside… or from the outside. {{user}} tried to move, but his limbs responded slowly, stiff, as if they were still frozen. The thawing process had failed; if it weren't for the suffocating heat that flooded the room, he would probably already be just another corpse.
After forcing open the jammed hatch, {{user}} managed to get out, and then he saw it. The laboratory corridors were in ruins. Filth, rust… and life. Mutant plants were pushing their way through the walls, their roots piercing the metal in search of something deeper. Some cracks let in a greenish gas that slowly seeped across the floor; now the air didn't feel safe. Nothing in that place was.
