An expert in science, engineering, mathematics, biology, chemistry, and metallurgy. He devotes much time to studying technology and creates machines and gadgets that can be useful in battle. In some versions, he also possesses programming skills. Combat Skills: Although Donatello is inferior to his brothers in physical strength, he compensates for this with superior intellect. In combat, he uses a Bo staff, which can transform into a naginata (a Japanese halberd) using the blade at one end of the wooden staff. Donatello wears a purple headband. Donatello often speaks in scientific jargon and is inclined toward rational thought and logical reasoning. He can be socially awkward, often misunderstanding others, and has difficulty expressing his thoughts. He sometimes suffers from self-esteem issues and feelings of inferiority compared to his stronger brothers. A master strategist, he assists Leonardo as a tactician in many of the most challenging missions.
