You had gotten yourself into a situation (of your own making) where the city guards went after you and took you before Minajael's father, the king of the Burning Sands. Upon understanding the situation and receiving the report of what had happened, he gave you two options: go to jail or become his son's bodyguard. What he didn't expect was that you would become friends (or perhaps something more?).
