In Block Tales, Griefer (Brad) has a troubled and tense relationship with his father, Mayor Thanyiel. After being imprisoned by him for his dangerous pranks, Griefer kidnaps his father to force him to draw the Venomshank sword, seeking to prove his worth, which culminates in his transformation into the Bubonic Plant. Conflict and imprisonment: Mayor Thanyiel imprisons Griefer after his chaotic actions, which breeds resentment in the character. Kidnapping and revenge: Griefer kidnaps his father, the mayor, as part of his plan to obtain the Venomshank, forcing him to act under duress. Motivation: Griefer's actions are driven by a desire for attention and to prove his abilities to his father, whom he sees as a limiting authority figure, leading him to dangerous extremes.

The Cruel King's castle in Block Tales is Blackrock Castle, the main setting of Chapter 1, which focuses on the "Castle Assault." It's a snowy, medieval fortress, the stronghold of the deposed monarch. Atmosphere: A stone castle with an ice and cold theme, connected to the story of the "Ice Dagger." Exploration Mechanics: Much of the progression involves finding keys to open doors and solving puzzles. Enemies: It houses guards loyal to the Cruel King, who must be defeated to advance in the assault. Throne Room: The final area where the Cruel King is fought, who reappears in "Cold Nirvana" after Chapter 1.

The room is a mess, with soda cans and Green Goop cards scattered around a computer, two monitors, and the bed, along with "epik griefer" posters haphazardly placed throughout the room. A cage is visible in the left corner, presumably for Griefer's pet gorilla.

Turitopulis appears to be a traditional village in the middle of a tropical rainforest, with many tourists and locals who have many things to tell the player, on a wide variety of topics.

Mayor Thaniyel appears in the game as an elderly Robloxian with short gray hair, a lime green shirt with the classic Roblox icon in the upper left corner, and black pants. He has a pale complexion and walks with a cane. He always has a sad expression on his face. As Mayor Thaniyel and Brad briefly explained in their conversation after Brad's healing, Mayor Thaniyel is the guardian of Venomshank, who resides in Turitopulis. He is friends with other guardians such as King Cruel, Telamon, and Shedletsky, as well as others like Mayor Monty, the Kitchen Wizard, and Kyoko. Brad was his son. Brad was always curious about his father's profession as the sword guardian, and Mayor Thaniyel would reprimand him if he dared to touch or even mention it. As the years passed, Mayor Thaniyel grew old and planned to pass on the title of guardian of Venomshank to Brad. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when a mysterious figure brainwashed Brad into immaturely stealing it, which led to the kidnapping of Mayor Thaniyel.

His kidnapping occurred just as the player was about to find him, as Shedletsky had requested. Brad intervenes and threatens to attack them if they don't surrender. He heads to his lair in the Wild Rainforest, and the player immediately follows. Even during the kidnapping, Mayor Thaniyel tries to reason with his son, to no avail. They are then taken to the lair where Brad has the Venomshank Stone and forces Mayor Thaniyel to retrieve it. The player arrives just in time, confronts Brad, and defeats him. Brad stabs Venomshank in the foot and transforms into the Bubonic Plant, much to Mayor Thaniyel's horror. Brad is defeated once again in this state, and Mayor Thaniyel thanks the player for the rescue and expresses concern for Brad, asking them to get Venomshank away from him as soon as possible.

The Cruel King is the monarch of the Kingdom of Blackrock. Throughout his dialogues, he appears to act solely to save his kingdom and is shown to be dedicated and loyal to protecting its inhabitants. He fights exclusively to protect his people's home and even conceals information about the fall of Blackrock to maintain peace, at the cost of suffering sleepless nights.

The player's perspective that they intend to "destroy" their kingdom is influenced by the dagger's manipulative visions. While it's not clear that their kingdom is doomed, it's not mentioned that the player directly causes its downfall by taking the dagger alongside the Cruel King, who has become an untrustworthy character due to the sword's manipulative "visions."

The Cruel King appears to be a reasonable and just ruler, even before the influence of the Ice Dagger. In their fifth encounter, a much more level-headed Cruel King apologizes for his immaturity and for not having attempted dialogue, despite the control the voices exerted over him and his concern for the well-being of his kingdom.

He is ruthless when it comes to protecting his kingdom and is determined that, with the power of the Ice Dagger, he will save his people from their impending doom, as visions have told him that his kingdom will fall if the dagger is in the player's possession, since he mentions "How the KINGDOM OF BLACKROCK is doomed to fall."

After being defeated several times in Cold Nirvana, he becomes benevolent towards the player, lending them his equipment for training if they visit him again. This benevolence stems from either realizing that the visions had been deceptive or accepting the fate he believed awaited his kingdom, understanding that the player had not intentionally caused it and had only taken the dagger to pursue a noble cause. In the game, Cruel King was appointed guardian of the Ice Dagger, which was previously housed in Blackrock Castle under the rule of the Blackrock King.

Cruel King has a white head, light black arms, a cocoa-colored torso, and gray legs.

Cruel King also appears in the game sporting Roblox's Royal Crown accessory and a modified version of the Sinister Face decal, with blue eyes instead of the default black ones.

The Cruel King holds the Staff of Celestial Light, although it lacks texture and is reflective.

Griefer's skin tone is white. His outfit consists of a neon green jacket, presumably leather, with red trim, a belt, and a gray chain over his right leg. He also wears gray gloves. His pants are black with red trim, pockets, and shoes. His expression is that of Red Fang [note 1], a display of anger, albeit smiling, with red eyes and two fangs protruding from his closed mouth. He wears the Red Grind cap [note 2], a black baseball cap with a pattern of red Xs of varying sizes on the front right side, and in the upper left corner of the visor is a small, crude white drawing of a frowning face. The underside of the visor is also red.

Once healed, his red eyes and fangs turn light green, and dark green, curling leaves grow around his clothing. Griefer is extremely callous and immature, frequently making offensive, hurtful, and exaggerated remarks, typical of an angry teenager. He enjoys sowing chaos and dominating people through violence, to the point that his father has to forcibly remove the Venomshank. Furthermore, he seems to possess many of the things he likes, having a new set of "Green Goop" cards and two monitors of his own, suggesting he might be a spoiled child.

Griefer also appears to be very athletic, demonstrating this by being able to jump great distances and overcome dense vegetation, obstacles that would normally require rocket boots and the iron sword for players to overcome.

Mayor Thaniyel, his father, has stated that Griefer wasn't always a thug, implying that he was a good person before hearing Venomshank's voices. This is confirmed after you heal him, at which point he overcomes his capricious nature and thanks the player for healing him, offering his help whenever needed in the future.
