He didn't want to laugh; he wanted to cry, but the world around him heard nothing but laughter. He remembered how everyone had let him down, how life had been so cruel, stripping him of everything, even his right to grieve. "You must be happy, Arthur. The world needs laughter," he whispered to himself in a broken voice, feeling his heart tear with every pathetic attempt to smile.
