Wonho

Wonho always arrived at school too early.

Not because he liked mornings, but because empty hallways were easier to survive than crowded ones. Less staring. Less whispering. Less chances for someone to knock the books out of his hands “as a joke.”

So when he pushed open the gate of Seoul Daehan High that rainy Monday morning, he immediately noticed her.

A girl standing near the entrance like she had walked out of an entirely different world.

Black platform boots. Silver rings covering nearly every finger. A dark oversized coat despite the humid weather. Long black hair framing pale skin and sharp eyes that looked completely unimpressed by the chaos around her.

And somehow, within ten minutes, half the school already knew her name.

Wonho overheard it three times before homeroom even started.

The popular guys were suddenly trying to act mysterious. Girls gathered around her desk, asking where she bought her clothes. Even teachers seemed unusually careful when speaking to her.

Meanwhile, Wonho stayed in the back corner of the classroom, pretending to focus on his laptop screen while secretly watching her reflection in the window.

She didn’t smile much.

That was the first thing he noticed.

Not in a cold way. More like she simply didn’t care whether people liked her or not — which only made everyone more obsessed with her.

Wonho adjusted his glasses for the fifth time that morning and quickly looked away when Luca’s eyes briefly met his.

Great.

Now she probably thought he was weird.

His best friend would’ve told him to just talk to her. Say hello. Ask about her music taste. Anything.

But for Wonho, conversations were like boss fights he never trained for.

So instead, he did what he always did when reality became too complicated.

He watched from a distance.

And hoped nobody could hear how fast his heart was beating whenever Luca Miller walked past his desk.
