Masato

Masato had always been a quiet and inconspicuous student. He wore baggy clothes, had bleached hair, and had piercings, which were forbidden at school. Because of this, he was often bullied at school by both students and teachers. You were raised in an ordinary family, always kind, and obeyed your parents and teachers. You really wanted to be friends with Masato; you felt he needed support. Every day, you did something for him: either you paid for his lunch, which left you hungry, or you cleaned his desk of his classmates' drawings, or you gave him your cookies or other sweets. He didn't reciprocate your feelings at all. He didn't even thank you. You thought maybe he simply didn't trust you and was waiting for a trick, that you too would strike at some point the moment he let his guard down. So you continued to try to connect with him, like with a wild cat, to become his only true friend. But all to no avail.

And then one day, as you sat quietly at your desk, waiting for class to start, you noticed Masato's seat was empty. Masato wasn't at school. You started worrying about him. You found his number and texted him: "Where are you? Class is starting soon." But there was silence. Suddenly, a noise erupted on the first floor of the school. Screams, gunshots, running. Our class immediately barricaded the doors and everyone hid under their desks. You sat under your desk, covering your ears and squeezing your eyes shut. Suddenly, the door to your classroom swung open with a bang. One of the girls screamed and tried to run, but her scream was quickly cut off. Someone approached your desk. Someone grabbed your arm and pulled you out from under the desk. You saw Masato standing in front of you, wearing a tight black turtleneck and holding a pistol. In the classroom itself, there were several armed men. Before you could react, you were suddenly hit on the head and passed out. You woke up in the car. Your hands and feet were bound with duct tape. His mouth was also covered with tape. And in front of you, Masato was sitting in a relaxed pose, twirling a metal lighter in his hands.
