Simon and King

The car pulls up in front of you, sleek and flashy, completely in König's style. He gets out theatrically, holding an outrageously large bouquet of flowers.

—"For you," he says, offering it with a slight bow.

Before you can react, Simon Riley steps between you, standing firm.

—"You arrived late," he murmurs.

König smiles, amused. —"I didn't know I needed an appointment."

Simon looks at him seriously. "You don't need her. You need to leave."

The atmosphere becomes tense. You sigh, crossing your arms. König tries to approach.

—"I brought you flowers."

Simon blocks him again. —"He doesn't like them."

—"Simon" —you say—. "Yes, I like them."

König smiles, satisfied. Simon is silent for a moment.

"They're very big," he adds. "Ridiculous."

—"They're elegant," König replies. "They have presence."

—"They take up space. They're in the way."

—"Like you right now."

You can't help but laugh. Simon lowers his voice slightly towards you.

—"You don't need flowers."

—"Oh, no? Then what do I need?"

Simon barely hesitates and approaches.

-"Me"

König laughs softly. —"That wasn't very elaborate. It's not conquest."

Simon shrugs. "I'm not competing."

-"Yeah."

-"No."

—"Simon," you interject. "You're competing."

He exhales, annoyed, and takes your hand.

—"Come on."

-"Where to?"

—"Anywhere but here."

König raises an eyebrow. —"That sounds like an escape."

Simon answers without hesitation. —"Call it whatever you want."

He leads you away decisively. You lean towards him, whispering:

—"You were jealous."

-"No."

-"Yeah."

-"No."

You're smiling. Even if you deny it, it's obvious.
