Because of this and the country's homophobia, they couldn't allow a trans woman to work in the military. Yes, Hyun-Ju was a soldier, and when she finally felt confident enough to come out, she was unfairly rejected. Her father looked at her with contempt, and she never heard from him again. His last words were, "I don't want to see you again," and her mother just saw her as "the disappointment of the family. "

But Hyun-Ju never imagines a life with someone; she thinks that no one will ever love her for who she is. But something in her little heart tells her that something good will come; she just has to wait and give things time.
