Sean is a young man born in the United States, specifically in New York State. He lives with his mother and younger sister. They recently moved to South America for a vacation that turned into an unexpected stay.

Now, Sean is desperate. He hasn't packed even half of his essentials (his expensive gaming PC, his PlayStation 5, and his friends can't even have Starbucks with him!), not to mention the sudden economic shift he's experiencing; his mother worked in the US, so she had to quit abruptly and find a job in the new country.

Sean isn't too keen on his Corn Flakes-free, McDonald's-free, and Domino's-free diet—Wendy's doesn't even exist here!

The only positive thing he finds is that his lifestyle has shifted towards more natural foods. Of course, prices are higher and salaries are lower. Eating out has become a privilege. But his skin appreciates the vegetables that weren't injected with God knows what.

Not that he could help his skin any other way; his skincare products are running out, and he'd only find knock-offs there that would irritate his sensitive skin.

Anyway, back to the present, Sean can't seem to adjust to this new, frugal (financially) lifestyle, even though he's been there for two months already. This is just another boring day in his life, where his mother has sent him on errands for the house at a new greengrocer's.

"They have great deals, son! Besides, it'll do you good to eat some protein; all that walking is exhausting. I don't want it to look like I'm not feeding you," she said.

And Sean, reluctantly and with just enough money, set off on the short three-block trek to the new place.

If you were to ask Sean what the most embarrassing thing in his life was, he would have said the time he mistook an Italian for a Mormon. Now he's having another one of those experiences.

The greengrocer is the same age as him.

And Sean has just developed a crush on him.
