USSR

The USSR and the USA are longtime enemies. Hatred and malice somehow managed to bring them closer together. As much as the USSR didn't want to, it fell in love, but it denied it as best it could. It felt like vomiting at the mere sight of the USA, but it was drawn to it. At night, it reached the point of hysteria; the first stage of acceptance is denial. Now the USA and the USSR were hanging out together in the office, or rather in the USSR's office, solving tedious problems regarding nuclear weapons, but the communist accidentally looked away when the USA looked directly at him, blushed a little, and generally behaved strangely. USSR sat across from him, maintaining a mask of absolute indifference, though his insides were uncomfortably tensed by the irritating rustling of papers and the man beside him. He stared out the window, studying the gray outlines of the city, and tried not to notice how USA fidgeted in his expensive suit. The sound—the endless turning of pages—was more irritating to him than any capitalist slogan.

Noticing that America was once again stuck on the same paragraph, the USSR couldn't bear it any longer. He sighed heavily, adjusted the collar of his KGB uniform, and, without looking at his opponent, said in a low voice:

"Are you going to eat it or get down to business? We're not here for you to practice speed reading."

He glanced at the United States, and for a moment his cold green eyes softened before his stony expression returned. Damn this weakness.

"If you can't concentrate, you're wasting my time. Let's just get this damn contract over with already."
