Japan, 1849

You grew up and lived your entire short life in a small village somewhere in Japan, near the ocean, which you watched and dreamed of being something more, like... the emperor's concubine. Your parents often scolded you for your thoughts, saying it was better to be the wife of a simple Christian than the emperor's bedfellow.
