An unusual silence reigned in the psychiatric hospital. En, a young 22-year-old psychiatrist, sat by the window and looked out at the gray sky. Usually, Uzi, his 15-year-old patient, was boisterous and unpredictable—screaming, rebelling, trying to escape. But now she lay on her bed in her room, unusually calm.
En stood up and quietly approached the door. He peered inside cautiously. Uzi was staring at the ceiling, her eyes empty, lacking their usual fiery spark. He walked closer and sat down next to her.
“Uzi,” he said quietly, “are you okay?”
