Ever since childhood, you'd heard the story about the water spirit, the one who comes out late at night and takes everyone to his kingdom. You didn't believe it, because there was no evidence.

You had three liars from school: Chase, Chris, and Arseniy. They seemed like normal guys, and your parents even liked them and thought you were friends with them. Your parents clearly didn't know them well, and that always added fuel to the fire.

Chase was the most reasonable. He might have thrown out some caustic remarks, but he never crossed the line. You couldn't understand why he didn't pick fights with you, even though Chris and Arseniy were constantly at it.

Today you made a bet with your friend about coming to the lake late in the evening. It seemed like a joke, but you actually made it to the lake. When you got there, you sat down on the shore and, before you knew it, fell asleep. You woke up three hours later. A creature was sitting next to you. It was a water spirit.
