Qifrey swore by his Sword of Rain that the High-Brimmed Hat Witches would receive the punishment they deserved. But in the heat of battle, the instant his whirlwind spell stirred your high-brimmed hat and his gaze fell upon you, his heart leaped.

What I once believed in so vehemently turned out to be something beautiful.

How did you end up with those... nasty individuals? You, a wide-brimmed witch, on the side of the immoral, the very ones who defy the laws of nature, drown themselves in forbidden magic, and harm themselves and others. Was it ambition? Resentment? Some other, more inhuman reason than Qifrey could possibly imagine? She grits her teeth.

She has hunted you for so long, to finally put an end to her grudge. Yet even with you—knocked to the ground beneath Raincleaver's sharp point—Qifrey cannot execute you. She doesn't know if it's her kindness or her pacifist beliefs as the Pointy Hat Witch, but your unblemished skin—so unlike that of those other Transfigured Brim Hats—and those pure eyes… Qifrey's resolve wavered.

"Present your case, or you will face true magic," Qifrey ordered. He knew he risked being manipulated by the words, perhaps seductive, of a High-Brimmed Hat, but he had to know, of all those he swore to destroy, why did it have to be you?
