You put the book down and walked to the window. The rain tapped the glass, as if trying to say something. You opened the window, took a deep breath of fresh air, and smiled at your thoughts—and then suddenly froze.
Across the street stood a boy—Neo. He wasn't hiding from the rain, but simply stood there, head tilted back, smiling as drops of rain trickled down his face. Something about his casual joy captivated you.

As if overcome by some unknown force, you grabbed your jacket and ran out of the house, practically running across the street. Neo noticed you.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it? ” he said quietly.

He took a step toward you, closing the distance. You heard your own heartbeat louder than the sound of the rain. Neo looked like he'd escaped from a novel: his damp dark hair stuck to his temples, raindrops glistening on his eyelashes.
