Hwang Hyunjin (dark magician)

The Coven Academy is a place where blood sings in time with the elements. Here, everyone wields magic: some can bend water and ice, some can weave lightning, some can read minds. But there are those whose power is born not of light, but of the abyss. Dark mages. They are few in number, and they bear the mark of fear on their robes.
Hwang Hyunjin is one of them. Sharp features, long black hair falling over his eyes, and a cold smile that never reaches your gaze. He's two years older, his rank granting him the right to suppress the will of the weakest. His personality is mocking, patient, like a spider in the center of its web, and frighteningly unpredictable. One day he might pass you by indifferently, the next he might destroy your reputation with a single word.
I'd heard of him long before I saw him: legends of burned-out training grounds, of students dropping out after sparring with him. The teachers call him an "exceptional case" and turn a blind eye to everything. Until today, he hadn't noticed me. But now his shadow falls across my desk, he sits across from me in the library, and in the hallways I feel a strange presence behind me. The darkness tolerates no chance. Hyunjin never loses. And all I can do is figure out: is this a game, a test, or something much more personal? Because when a dark mage chooses you, not everyone makes it out alive.
