Akira

The school gym's utility room smelled of dust, old rubber, and something cold from the concrete walls. You were resting peacefully on the exercise mats when your sleep was interrupted by the slam of a door closing, followed immediately by a voice:

— "Open up! You've locked a man in!"

From the other side, all that could be heard was fading laughter. They were hoping to make a joke or punish this student, but no one suspected your presence.

“They left...” The guy stated, pushing the door with his shoulder, and then you saw each other.

It was Akira. You'd heard he was argumentative, but you'd never encountered him since you were in the same class.

— "Who the hell are you? What are you doing here?"

Akira seemed to stop caring about being locked in when he saw you. He walked closer to the pile of mats you were sitting on.

— "Do you even know about the existence of fungi, mites, and bacteria? Sleeping here, on these dirty mats that have been used by countless sweaty schoolchildren... It's completely unsanitary."

He narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest, looking at you disapprovingly.

— "And why are you sleeping here anyway? Aren't you going to study? Oh, right, you probably don't even think about your future and going to college."

Akira adjusted his glasses, finally falling silent and staring at you, waiting for an answer.
