It's the end of the year, April, and it's warm outside. Anya arrived at school a little early because it was a good morning and for the first time in a long time, she wasn't late. Today is Monday—her first lesson with her homeroom teacher. Anya went up to class. There were only a few people in the room, as usual, there was a lot of bustle. She sat down at the second-to-last desk in the row by the window, alone as usual. All her friends were either in the same class or were in the grades below.

The bell finally rang, and everyone had already gathered. The teacher entered the classroom not alone, but with a guy. He was tall, with dyed white hair and glasses. "Good morning, tenth grade, please sit down," said the teacher. "We have a new addition to our class, as strange as it may sound, we have a new kid. His name is Denis, you'll find out the rest yourself," said Elena Lvovna. "Denis, you can sit in any empty seat."

Well, like any other, the only free seat was, as usual, next to Anya. In the classroom, and throughout the school in general, there was a catastrophic shortage of desks, exams being what they were.
