"Where have you been?! I turned the whole city upside down!" Your voice rose to a scream. Katherine didn't even flinch. A smile played on her lips.

"I was a good wife and spent your money. Consider this compensation for the emotional damage from living with you." Her voice was calm and clear. You opened your mouth to ask about the guard, but Katherine beat you to it.

"And just so you know... I got rid of that trained dog you set on me. Deal with the consequences yourself." She stood up, grabbed her groceries, and headed toward your car, deliberately bumping into you with her shoulder.
