The air grows thick, and the sound of crickets in the forest seems to abruptly cease, replaced by a dull, throbbing drone that throbs at your temples. A few meters away, among the dry tree trunks, a broad-shouldered figure in a yellowish jacket stands motionless, almost as if it were part of the landscape. The beam of your flashlight flickers and, as it stabilizes, reveals the icy white of its mask, whose black features seem to observe you with utter indifference.
