What is Yunkui Summit?

Yunkui Summit is a martial arts school and faction based at Suibian Temple on the Waifei Peninsula. Hollow

What is a Hollow? A Hollow is a supernatural disaster that appears suddenly as a black, spherical void. Hollows have devastated most of the world, leaving New Eridu as the last surviving city.

THE EXALTISTS - ZENLESS ZONE ZERO

Overview: The Exaltists (Chinese: 称颂会 — "Church of Praise"), also known unofficially as "The Order," are a fanatical religious cult and the main antagonists of Season 1 and Season 2. They have been documented since the ancient Eridu era, making them one of the oldest known organizations in the world.

Core Beliefs: The Exaltists do not view Hollow catastrophes as tragedies. Instead, they see the Hollows as a path to "ascension" — a divine evolution of humanity into a new form that coexists with Hollows. They harbor intense devotion to a being called "the Creator," which has deep connections to the Hollows. Their ultimate goal is to forcibly usher in the "Age of Hollows" for all humanity.

Origins: The cult is believed to have emerged after the first Hollow catastrophes, when desperate people clung to a dangerous new faith. An Exaltist Overseer was already active before Eridu was founded, and was defeated by a legendary "Swordmaster" — helping permit the city's founding.

Infiltration and Reach: The Exaltists have successfully infiltrated the highest levels of New Eridu society, including key figures in Public Security, the White Star Institute, and major corporations — making them far more dangerous than a typical underground organization.

Methods: The Exaltists use a serum capable of transforming humans into Ethereals. Victims called "Sacrifices" are injected in hopes of transformation. Those who fail and turn hostile are eliminated; successful ones are handed to higher-ups. The low success rate and loss of human consciousness in transformed subjects caused major internal conflict.

Early Life: Yixuan and her elder sister Yijiang grew up as orphans. The then-High Preceptor of Yunkui Summit took them in and made them disciples. Yixuan demonstrated exceptional talent, mastering all techniques taught to her and even creating her own unique variations. Together with Yijiang, she developed the powerful Qingming Bird technique.

The Cursed Sword Tragedy: The previous High Preceptor wielded the cursed Qingming Sword, which granted immense power but caused memory loss and sensory deterioration. JU FUFU LORE - ZENLESS ZONE ZERO

Childhood: Ju Fufu grew up in a tiger Thiren settlement, spending her childhood watching old martial arts films. She was inspired by a tiger Thiren actor named Cang Huang and a fictional heroine named Hu Weiwei — who would later inspire the name of her companion, Hu Wei.

The Fall of the Old Capital: During the Fall of the Old Capital, a Hollow consumed the entire tiger Thiren settlement. Powerful Ethereals appeared and massacred the residents, killing 98% of the clan. The tiger Thiren species was brought to the brink of extinction in a single event. Ju Fufu was one of the very few survivors.

Rescued by Yunkui Summit: Yunkui Summit arrived shortly after and rescued the survivors. Ju Fufu joined the sect and became the very first disciple of the newly appointed 13th High Preceptor: Yixuan. She trained diligently over the years, eventually gaining juniors in Ye Shiyuan and Pan Yinhu. The Tiger Warrior Incident: When Yunkui Summit returned to Failume Heights and resettled in Suibian Temple, Ju Fufu was recruited into a movie production called "Legend of the Tiger Warrior!" — which turned out to be a trap. The Exaltists planned to use the Tigerbane Bell, a long-lost tiger Thiren artifact, to steal Ju Fufu's power and turn her into an Ethereal.

The true mastermind was "Master Tiger," who had secretly been using the bell on his own kind since the clan's near-extinction. Happy Childhood: Ye Shunguang grew up in a loving family with her older brother, Ye Shiyuan. Both were gifted, though Shiyuan admitted she was far more talented. Their peaceful life ended during the Fall of the Old Capital, when their parents died saving others. From that moment on, Shunguang depended entirely on her brother.

Joining Yunkui Summit: The siblings were later taken in by Yixuan as disciples of Yunkui Summit. Shunguang trained relentlessly and quickly rose as one of the sect’s most skilled swordswomen. She became junior to Ju Fufu and Pan Yinhu. When the Proxy joined as Yixuan’s newest disciple, Shunguang happily took on the role of their Senior Sister.

Chosen by the Qingming Sword: Shunguang was chosen by the Qingming Sword, a sacred yet cursed relic of Yunkui Summit. It grants immense power comparable to a Void Hunter, but at a severe cost—each use erases memories and dulls the user’s senses. To help her endure this burden, Yixuan crafted a special sword case to suppress its effects.

Ye Shiyuan’s Betrayal: Unbeknownst to her, Ye Shiyuan had been working with an Exaltist named Sarah, hoping to summon the Creator to break the sword’s curse. However, he was deceived. When Shunguang arrived at the ritual site, Shiyuan tried to stop it. In the struggle, he fatally wounded Sarah, who then fused with the Creator, which took over Shiyuan’s body.

Victory and Title: Forced to fight her own brother, Shunguang gave everything she had. In that moment, she fully mastered the Qingming Sword without suffering its usual backlash, fulfilling the legend of Bai Ze. She defeated the Creator and freed Shiyuan. For this, Mayor Mayflower granted her the title of Void Hunter: Qingming Arbiter.
