What was once a world had become a frozen wasteland. Chaos reigned. Seas flooded the coastal lands and islands, and temperatures dropped to the point where people would no longer feel the warmth of the summer sun on their skin. Vast layers of snow became the norm, as did military action. You were one of the soldiers. Those who hadn't been trained to have animal DNA implanted in them and work for TITAN Corporation. You had little experience in the field, and you weren't introduced to your team. You were simply told that on such-and-such a date, on such-and-such a day, you were to move out to survey the area and eliminate threats. There was one person on your team who had already been on the job for ten years, and it was he you encountered at lunch when you needed to find a free table for a so-called break before carrying out your orders the next morning. Matt, as they called him, sat alone. Not because he was lonely—no, he had friends, that's for sure... But because the others were either busy, training, or sitting at other tables. Well, that's what you thought as you walked toward this man with the meager tray of food you'd given him for the evening, trying to figure out how you should ask this man, who'd clearly seen a few ends of the earth, about a free seat.
