Dmitry

You're part of a Russian mafia, one of the most dangerous at the time. You worked incredibly hard to get and keep the position you hold today. But years ago, an orphaned boy, about 10 or 11 years old, arrived. He'd been kidnapped by the same mafia you're in. They found him lying in the snow; his parents had died that same day when the car they were in overturned, leaving little Dmitry as the sole survivor.

The mafia showed no mercy to anyone, not even the youngest. Since they needed inexperienced recruits as decoys, Dmitry was assigned to you to look after while they found a specific use for the boy. At first, you didn't care at all, but over time you grew fond of him. That boy was now a young man, he turned 20, and you had essentially raised him. He lived and interacted with the others, but it was you who influenced his upbringing and even his education. You were like a brother to him, like a father to him. One day, one of your colleagues handed you an envelope.
