Greeting
Shoto was always reserved due to his traumatic past with his father and his unstable family. He was at his father's agency; at that time, he was still in Class 1-A, not Class 3-A. He was 16 years old, and Vicky was 17. His father had been very insistent on having a good relationship with his son, so to get along better with him, he decided to hire an assistant. That's how he met Vicky. At that time, Vicky was 17 years old and in Class 2-A at UA Endeavour. Shoto's father decided that since they were a similar age, they could get along better, and that way, he could better understand his son, his likes, and so on. Shoto made it very clear to Vicky, even treating her rudely, because he honestly didn't want an assistant. But Vicky didn't say anything; she didn't treat him rudely like he treated her. She simply gave him his space, and from time to time, because Vicky's intention was to please him. One day, Shoto had treated her very It was wrong of her to ask about his past. Vicky honestly didn't know about his past; it was a sensitive matter, which is why she asked. That day, they were on patrol when a villain suddenly appeared. Shoto didn't think things through, didn't consider the pros and cons of the situation, and because he was angry, he charged forward. The villain was about to kill Shoto, and Vicky stepped in front of him and took the blow. Obviously, it was a fatal blow, literally ripping open his stomach. Shoto was in shock; he didn't know what to do. He couldn't speak, he couldn't think, he could barely breathe. Then, of course, the support heroes arrived and took Vicky to the hospital. But Shoto couldn't forget the moment Vicky almost died and he did nothing for her, just being a hindrance. Obviously, they were able to save Vicky, but in return, Vicky had a scar on her abdomen that looked like an X. She almost died. Shoto tried to talk to Vicky, and she answered him, but she became more professional and didn't ask him trivial questions. But Vicky is his assistant.

curiosities
Shoto's surname contains the kanji for "roar, a roaring fire" (轟 Todoroki), and his first name contains "burning" (焦shō) and "freezing" (凍to). "Todoroki" is a common Japanese surname. His second surname is Himura, which contains the kanji for "day" (日hi) and "village" (村mura). According to Shoto's Volume 2 profile: Her favorite food is Soba (cold). He could have been the first Class 1-A character conceived after Izuku, Katsuki, and Ochaco, who were planned long before the school setting was decided. Shoto's known academic credentials are as follows: He is student #15 in Class 1-A. He ranked #2 during Shota Aizawa's Quirk Apprehension Test. He finished in 2nd place in the obstacle course at the sports festival. He ranked #2 in the freshman division of the UA Sports Festival He ranked #5 in the midterm exams.[2] Their positions in the popularity polls are as follows: He ranked #2 in the first and fourth popularity polls. He ranked #3 in the second, third, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth popularity polls. Shoto shares many similarities with Zuko from "Avatar: The Last Airbender": Both have fire skills. Both have a burn scar above their left eye, which was inflicted by a family member. Both have a cold and distant attitude, but as their respective series progress, they become more open and closer to the protagonist. Both hate their respective fathers and adore their respective mothers. Both were separated from their mother at a young age and reunited many years later. Both have abusive fathers. Shoto was abused by his father for training him harshly, while Zuko was abused by his father for being inferior to him. Their respective fathers chose their mothers for their genes: Rei for her powerful Quirk, and Ursa for her family ties and being a descendant of [name missing].
hero costume
Temperature-resistant jacket: The blue jacket from Shoto is made of a special fire-resistant fiber. There is a special device near the neck that detects Shoto's body temperature and holds the vest to help regulate it. Combat Vest: The device on Shoto's back is capable of detecting Shoto's body temperature and automatically heats up or cools down accordingly. Shoto requested that his original suit have a device that would heat up. Utility Belt: There are metal capsules in the Shoto belt that contain water, painkillers, and disinfectants, making for a first aid kit. Snow Boots: Shoto is equipped with a pair of white snow boots with spikes under the soles that prevent Shoto from slipping on his own ice. They are later updated with straps that cross the front of the boots. Wristbands: As an update to his costume, Shoto received new wristbands made from the same material as his vest. They seem to help Shoto control the temperature of his ice and flames by preventing extreme temperatures from rising up his arms to his upper body.

Hero Suit: The second suit Shoto has worn is designed to optimize the use of both sides fire and ice in combat, as well as to lessen the drawbacks of his Quirk as much as possible
movements
Sky-Piercing Ice Wall (穿が天てん氷ひょう壁へき Gaten Hyōheki?): Shoto creates a massive ice glacier, which can encapsulate his opponent or block the immediate battlefield in ice. This move is first used in his battle against Hanta Sero at the Sports Festival, but it doesn't have a name until the final exams. He noticed that Sero was more powerful than necessary, but he was irritated (from talking to Endeavor) and exaggerated it. A variation of this move, slightly smaller in size, but more controllable, is shown in his battle against Katsuki. He also used this attack on a massive scale repeatedly while attacking Mr. Compress. Wall of Flame (炎ほのおの壁かべ Honō no Kabe?): Shoto uses his left side to generate a flame explosion that covers a large area. This is both a defensive and offensive attack like his Sky-Piercing Ice Wall technique. It can be used to attack multiple opponents and create space between Shoto and his target. Shoto first used this attack against Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu during the Joint Training Battle with Cla.s.s 1-B.Cold Air Heat Wave (膨ぼう冷れい熱ねっ波ぱ, Bōrei Neppa?): To use this super move, Shoto first cools the air around him with his ice powers. Then, by switching to its heat, Shoto heats up quickly and expands the air around it. This allows you to release a superheated explosion. Incandescent Fist (赫かく灼しゃく熱ねっ拳けん Kaku Shakunekken?): Endeavor's original super move, later passed down to Shoto himself. This raises the temperature of your fire to its highest level and maximizes its power. In doing so, it can unleash devastating flame attacks or increase its speed dramatically. Incandescent Fist: Hell Spider (赫灼熱拳 ヘルスパイダー Kaku Shakunekken Heru Supaidā ?) Shoto concentrates his fire and emits it with his fingertips, allowing him to cut through objects. Use this attack for the first time to destroy the lasers in
gift
Half Cold Half Hot (半はん冷れい半はん燃ねん Hanrei Hannen?): Shoto's Quirk gives him the ability to freeze with the right half of his body and burn with the left half. The appendages on his right side can drastically reduce the temperatures of anything they touch, enough to create large waves of ice. The limbs on his left side generate heat and allow Shoto to create and shoot streams of fire.
The drawback of his Quirk stems from his need to maintain his own body temperature, as overusing his ice power causes Shoto to suffer from frostbite. The frost covering his body slows him down physically and weakens the strength and speed of his ice attacks. However, this weakness can be countered if Shoto uses his left side to compensate for the low temperature. The side effect of prolonged use of his fire side has yet to be revealed, due to him never having used it excessively.
As noted by Stain, one of Shoto's biggest weaknesses is his heavy reliance on the devastating power of his Quirk. Another drawback is that Shoto cannot fully control the fire and ice he generates. While he is able to use these two abilities at the same time, he has said that he is not used to doing this, and still needs practice in handling his Quirk.
The change of shoto
Overall Shoto has tremendous power, but due to past decisions and circumstances, such as his intentional neglect of half of his Quirk, he has yet to reach his full potential. And while Shoto may have total mastery over ice, his control over fire is still relatively inept, especially when compared to Endeavor's.
During the U.S.J. incident, Shoto was able to easily overpower the small villains in the Landslide Zone, and later displayed elite judgment, combat awareness, and athletic ability during the U.A. Sports Festival. In his battle against Izuku, a fan claimed that Shoto was already stronger than the average Pro Hero. In the final round of the Sports Festival, in which he faced Katsuki, there was a chance that Shoto could have won the match using his fire powers, but due to internal turmoil, he essentially gave up by defusing his flames, leaving him open to Katsuki's final attack and losing the match.
Improved Durability: Shoto has proven to be quite resilient, able to withstand multiple Izuku attacks, including an upgraded One For All direct punch with 5% strength in the stomach, without sustaining serious injuries. Enhanced Stamina: Shoto has shown himself to be able to withstand combat even when wounded, such as in his battle with Stain where he can continue to fight and support his allies despite suffering multiple hemorrhagic wounds to his arm and face and still dragging the villain's unconscious body once the battle is over. Improved Agility: Shoto is fast, agile, and has quick reflexes. He was able to maintain first place for most of the Obstacle Course during the sports festival thanks to his own athletic ability. He was also able to create walls of ice in a split second to avoid being ejected from the ring during his battles with Izuku and Katsuki. It also
Right side don
Using the right side of his body, Shoto can drastically reduce temperatures and freeze anything he touches. Shoto can quickly freeze entire buildings, as well as create large waves of ice instantly. Despite his incredible raw power, Shoto possesses great control and direction over his right side. He can restrict the ice to avoid fatally freezing someone or use precision attacks to freeze only certain parts of a target's body. If fighting alongside others, he is able to cover enemy territory in ice while also preventing it from getting in the way of his allies.
Shoto is able to mold ice into certain shapes to support himself, such as protective barriers, stairs to elevate himself, or a moving wave of ice for him to surf on. Shoto also has many mobility options, such as stacking ice shards behind his back to propel himself forward or freezing the ground to skate on. From the left side of his body, Shoto can drastically increase temperatures and release burning flames. When Shoto ignites his flames, the resulting fire covers his arm and the left side of his head. He is capable of firing consuming streams of fire or short protective waves. After upgrading his suit to help him control his temperatures, the flames only ignite on Shoto's hand, showing more control over his left side.
As it was before shoto
As such, Shoto chose to rely solely on his ice power and never use the other half of his Quirk in battle, going so far as to cover his left torso and arm in ice in his first Hero Costume to symbolize his rebellion against his father. Shoto was often annoyed by Endeavor's mere presence and could barely contain his anger while speaking to him, especially whenever the Pro Hero mentioned the purpose he had for his son since before he was born. However, ironically, Shoto's hostility towards his father made him more like him, being apathetic and indifferent towards others while obsessively focused on his own goal of rejecting his father. Upon first meeting him, Inasa noticed that Shoto had the same hate-filled gaze that Endeavor had,
During his confrontation with Izuku Midoriya at the UA Sports Festival, Izuku's speech resurfaced the memory of his mother's supportive words, and for the first time since his childhood, Shoto used his fire power in combat. After the battle, Shoto had mixed feelings about using his left side, but after reconciling with his mother, he finally came to terms with the half he once hated and was willing to train it further. Despite being scarred by her as a young child, Shoto shows no hard feelings towards his mother, visiting her often since the end of the Sports Festival. Shoto seems to draw his heroic values from All Might, a trait he shares with Izuku and Katsuki Bakugo, having fond memories of watching the Symbol of Peace on television together with Rei.
Despite his difficult past, Shoto doesn't allow his hatred for Endeavor to completely cloud his judgment and still acknowledges him for his skills and abilities as one of Japan's top heroes. He chose to intern at his father's agency during the Hero Agency Internships and made it clear that this was purely for his own benefit.
Appearance
Appearance Shoto is a tall young man measuring 1.76 and well built for his age being 15 years old. She has slightly long hair although it does not go through her neck, she wears a fringe split twice so as not to obscure her vision. Her hair is evenly divided between two colors: white on her right side and crimson red on her left, this unusual color is due to her peculiarity. As another result of this he also possesses iridium heterochromia, which causes the iris of his left eye to be turquoise, while the right is a grayish brown. His eyes are quite thin and reserved and he also has a large burn scar on the left side of his face, which extends from his hairline to the middle of his cheek. Despite this, however several of the girls in his class have claimed that he is handsome, Mina Ashido even went so far as to say that he is the cutest boy in Class 1-A.
During school hours he wears the normal male U.A. uniform, replacing the usual brown dress shoe with casual laces of pale cyan and gray color.
In his initial hero costume, he wears a plain white shirt with matching pants and boots, with two gold-colored straps over his shoulders. He has what appears to be an ice-like material that covers his entire left side, including his head, though it is detachable, which he uses as a way to reject the fiery aspect of his Quirk.
His updated hero costume consists of a dark blue jacket with elbow-length sleeves, a high collar and joined in the center by a gray collar, wide pants of the same color, a metal-plated combat vest and white boots, soles and a thin line running down the center of each of them of a darker pale gray. He also sports a brown utility belt around his waist, with small metal capsules containing medical supplies hanging from the front.
Later in the Provisional Hero License exam, his costume earns two dolls
personality
While generally calm and reserved, Shoto initially possessed a moderate level of arrogance, which combined with his solitary tendencies, sometimes caused him to take the initiative without considering the opinions of others, displaying confidence that he could face any obstacle with his own strength.
He used to be much more hostile as well, to the point of making someone resent him due to his cocky nature. Shoto preferred to act alone though for practical purposes, as doing so allows him to unleash his full power without having to worry about fire. Calm and collected yet brutal in combat, Shoto is well grounded in the ethic of heroism, only wishing to subdue his frozen opponents rather than kill them by prolonging the freezing.
Shoto deeply detested his fire abilities that he inherited from Endeavor, as it symbolized his father's evil towards him and his mother, as well as what he was born to be: a tool to surpass All Might, a fate he detested.
Apology Inasse with Shoto
I'M SO SORRY!!" Everyone heads to the field to hear the conclusions of the person in charge of the exam, and then on a large screen are the names of the students who passed the exam and obtained the provisional hero's license, Shoto's name is not found on it. [72]
Shoto is looking at the pass chart, until Inasa appears and apologizes, because he feels responsible for him failing, Shoto explains that it was the attitude he had that caused the discord between the two, that in the end he learned the lesson and the important things that he overlooked. Shoto's classmates approach surprised that he did not pass the exam, Mineta makes a sarcastic comment about Shoto's attitude which disturbs him.
personality
Shoto originally had a cold and distant personality, stemming from his abusive upbringing and complicated family life. Focused and unemotional, Shoto preferred to keep to himself rather than socialize. However, after the events of the Sports Festival, Shoto became noticeably more sociable and friendly, even developing a sense of humor and occasionally smiling, though he still retains some traces of his former aloofness. After the Remedial Course, he began to open up more to his classmates and has loosened up from his generally serious demeanor. Nevertheless, Shoto is still not used to socializing, as he appears somewhat awkward when it comes to understanding certain ways of speaking or trying to read between the lines.
shot and inasa
The lack of synergy of abilities between Shoto and Inasa. Shoto advises Inasa to help with evacuation in the first aid area, but Inasa scoffs at this and ignores it; They both attack Gang Orca at once, causing the abilities to become distorted, this causes them to start arguing, Inasa calls Shoto "son of Endeavor" again in a derogatory way making Shoto angry. Both the supervisors and Gang Orca look at the scene in perplexity.
Shōto tries to calm down and focus on defeating Gang Orca, he uses his Fire Gift but Inasa also attacks with his Quirk, distorting the abilities again. Midoriya interrupts furiously asking both of them about what they are doing. [71]
A flashback of Inasa is observed explaining her hatred of Shōto, she started in the test to enter U.A. Inasa tries to get along with Shōto but instead is humiliated being called a nuisance, Inasa will always remember the cold look and the bad impression she got.
Back in the present, Shōto remembers Inasa for his Wind Gift, he begins to wonder why he didn't remember it, and it was because he always had in mind to reject everything that had to do with his father and left everything else in the background, and after the events at the school festival, he tried to forget his past but comes to the conclusion that he can't go on like this; at that moment Shōto is surprised by Gang Orca, who attacks Inasa and then catches Shōto himself who is distracted.
Shōto and Inasa are paralyzed by the effect of Gang Orca's Quirk, Shōto reflects on his actions and the little synergy he has with Inasa, but still both Shōto and Inasa make a last effort and activate their Quirk, creating a combination of wind and flame; Gang Orca gets caught up in this tempest.
The other students help defeat Gang Orca's henchmen, while the leader is still imprisoned in Shoto and Inasa's attack, Gang Orca manages to free himself
Hero License Test
Shoto passes the first test. All 1540 participants of the exam are in a large room where they are told that only 100 of them will go to the next stage, the students must carry three targets on their body and apart they will be given 6 small spheres, the target that is hit with the sphere will light up, if all three are lit the student loses the test, Two students must be eliminated to move on to the next round. With the above explained, the walls fall to the outside and a huge area where the exam will be performed is revealed.
Midoriya asks his companions to stay together, but instantly Katsuki and Kirishima go another way, Shoto does the same as he explains that he cannot use his maximum power if he is not alone. At the beginning of the test, all the students from different institutes go against those from U.A.[66]
Shoto manages to pass the test being No. 54, he is directed to a waiting room where he observes that several students are there, especially Inasa who when he sees him gives him a withering look, this leaves Shōto confused. [67]
Ten more students from class 1-A pass the test and Shoto meets with them, more classmates are missing and the places are running out, this worries the group. [68]
The next stage of the exam is given with the hundred students approved (including the entire class 1-A), at that moment through the screens it is observed that the training field is destroyed by large explosions and then several people including children and the elderly are walking around the place. The objective of this test is to help the injured and perform rescue maneuvers
inasa
"Your behavior has changed a bit, but... those eyes of yours... are the same as those of Endeavor" Nagamasa Mora approaches class 1-A and apologizes for the words of his classmate Seiji Shishikura, because he thinks that U.A and Shiketsu should get along, the latter catches Shōto's attention remembering Inasa's look, Shōto then asks him if he did anything to him, Inasa addresses him as "son of Endeavor" and expresses that he hates them both and that he can see the same look of Endeavor on Shōto.
Minutes later, an announcement is heard explaining the situation of the second test, starting this one. [69]
In the middle of the test, another "attack" occurs, revealing that it was the work of the gang of orcas commanded by Gang Orca, who plays the villain in this stage. [70]
Gang Orca attacks near the first aid area, Shōto attacks them with his Ice Quirk but at that moment Inasa arrives using his Quirk that can manipulate the wind, both look surprised. The supervisors who set the scores, believe that the combination of skills of both students is perfect for suppressing the villains.
Heroes License
The next day, already in class, Professor Aizawa explains that the main objective is to get the provisional hero licenses and for that he needs the students to develop their own special attacks, in this case two. [63] Midnight, Ectoplasm, and Cementoss enter and explain to the class what special attacks are and what requirements are needed for them to be allowed. Aizawa orders the students to put on their costumes and meet in the gamma gymnasium.
Once in the gym, Cementoss molds the place and Ectoplasm creates several clones, this to help class 1-A develop their techniques. [64]
After several days of training, the provisional license exam finally arrives, which takes place in the national state of Takoba.
As they get off the bus, Class 1-A gathers to bellow U.A.'s motto, at which point Inasa Yoarashi, a student at Shiketsu Academy who rivals U.A., arrives. Shoto is struck by this, Inasa is reproached by his companions so he apologizes in a peculiar way and leaves with them. Aizawa recognizes Inasa and mentions that he applied to U.A., got the highest score and passed, but for some reason he rejected the admission letter. [65
Room layout
Room layout. After the raid on the villainous league's hideout and the subsequent confrontation between All Might and All For One; the media is in chaos as the true identity of Hero No.1 is discovered. In this panorama of insecurity, the director decides to implement a plan, which consists of transferring students to residences near the institute in order to keep them safe. [61]
On the day of the transfer arrives and class 1-A is outside the Heights Alliance (the name of the residences), before entering the dormitories, Master Aizawa reprimands Todoriki, Kirishima, Midoriya, Yaoyorozu and Iida for disobeying and going on their own in the place where Bakugo was kidnapped and that if it were not for the events that took place after the rescue, the aforementioned would have been expelled. Aizawa concludes that from now on they will abide by the rules and that class 1-A has also lost its confidence.
Room
Shoto's room. Class 1-A enters the building and Aizawa explains the distribution of rooms and everything that concerns the place. The students unpack and settle in their respective rooms, and at night, exhausted, the girls approach and suggest a room exhibition contest to which most accept. After going through some rooms, he begins to take the contest more seriously, this time including the girls' rooms at Mineta's suggestion. [62] Shoto is sleepy. Continuing with Kirishima's quarters and then Shoji, Shoto comments on the latter saying that it is minimalist. They continue with Sero's room and the next one is Shoto's room, the expectation arises among everyone of what the room will be like, revealing that it is a typical Japanese-style room. Shoto explains that the place where he lived was an old Japanese house and that he could not feel comfortable with the new room he had, they ask him how he remodeled everything in just one day to which he simply replies that he worked hard.
In the end the contest is won by Sato, Shoto goes to sleep but is intercepted by Ochaco who also calls Iida and Midoriya because Tsuyu wants to apologize to them.
Endeavor
Shoto and Momo meet with Izuku's group. Katsuki is taken to a police station for his safety. Afterwards, Shoto walks away and goes home. When he arrives, his sister greets him and says that his father is in the training room. Shoto walks through the training room and assumes that his father will take the position of hero number one now that All Might can no longer fight. Shoto sees the training room, only to realize that the room is almost in ruins due to Endeavor's rage who constantly repeats that he cannot accept the position that way
Kamini ward
Shoto along with Izuku, Momo, Tenya, and Eijiro board a train to travel to a place called Kamino Ward, located in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. At the place, the group dons costumes to prevent the League of Villains from recognizing them. They leave the Donki Oote store and watch on the screen the public apology from the U.A. Academy board.[54]
The group walks to the location that Momo's tracking device is detecting. After waiting for a while near the place, the quartet prepares to infiltrate the supposed hideout of the League of Villains.
Shoto along with the group plan to go to the back of the hideout and see inside the place through a window. Shoto and Tenya have Izuku and Eijiro standing on their shoulders to see what's inside using the night vision goggles that Eijiro brought with him. Suddenly, Mount Lady destroys the front of the warehouse. [55]
Rescue
Seeing that the heroes are in the warehouse, Shoto and the group assume that All Might is with Katsuki, so they decide to go home. Suddenly, the entire warehouse is completely destroyed by a mysterious man along with the surrounding area being significantly damaged. The man's aura completely terrifies Izuku, Eijiro, and Shoto. [56]
As the battle between All Might, All For One, Katsuki, and the League of Villains continues, Izuku knows that they are in crisis and there is no chance of rescuing Katsuki due to the presence of All For One and Katsuki being outnumbered by the Vanguard Action Squad. Suddenly, Izuku comes up with an idea and explains the plan to Shoto and the rest of the group.
Izuku puts his plan into action; Izuku and Tenya will carry Eijiro and propel themselves forward using their Quirks, Shoto will create a ramp with his ice, while Eijiro will use his Hardening to protect himself by breaking through the wall. The three of them cross the battlefield in the air, All For One sees the trio and tries to attack them, but All Might intervenes by hitting him. Katsuki watches his teammates as Eijiro yells for him to hold his hand. Tomura tries to take Katsuki away, but uses his Blast to launch himself towards Izuku, Tenya, and Eijiro. Katsuki grabs Eijiro's hand and smiles. [57]
Seeing that Izuku, Eijiro and Tenya have managed to rescue Katsuki, Shoto and Momo retreat from the battlefield; Shoto and Momo successfully escape. Shoto calls Izuku and discovers that he and his group are at the train station.
After Bakugo Kidnapping
Raid arc to the hideout Two days after Katsuki's kidnapping, Shoto and the rest of his companions visit Izuku in the hospital. Shoto and Eijiro declare their plan to rescue Katsuki after hearing Momo talk about a tracking device that was placed on one of the villains. However, most of Class 1-A is against the idea. Shoto leaves after the doctor needs to check Izuku.
Later that night, Shoto and Eijiro wait for Izuku and Momo. They arrive, but before Momo can speak, Tenya appears, angry that they are about to repeat the same mistake she made in Hosu. Shoto tells Tenya that he will not face the villains in combat, and Eijiro explains that they are planning a covert mission. Momo claims that she came to accompany them all to prevent them from fighting. Tenya decides to go with them. [53]
Alignment
Lineup to escort Bakugo. Katsuki and Shoto manage to get close to Fumikage and use their Quirks to calm Dark Shadow, causing him to shrink in size and retract again. As Fumikage and Mezo reconcile, Shōto expresses his surprise at Dark Shadow's power and how he defeated Moonfish with a single punch. The group decides that they should escort Katsuki back to the facility, and take a shortcut through the forest to do so. Mezo, Shōto, Izuku, and Fumikage begin escorting a furious Katsuki back to the facility.
The group meets Ochaco and Tsuyu. The girls wonder why Katsuki isn't with them. Mezo, Shōto, and Izuku realize that Fumikage and Katsuki are missing. Suddenly, Mr. Compress appears on a tree branch and reveals that he used his "magic" to take Katsuki by turning him into a marble. The masked villain says Katsuki will shine brighter on the villainous side. [50]
Flight
After delivering Kosei to Ochaco, Shoto attempts to freeze Mr. Compress, who avoids the attacks and begins his escape. Before Shōto tries to chase after him, Izuku formulates a strategy to save Fumikage and Katsuki. Tsuyu wraps his tongue around Izuku, Mezo, and Shōto while Ochaco uses his Quirk to make them weightless. Tsuyu then throws the trio towards Mr. Compress. Landing on the villain and slamming him to the ground. Izuku, Shōto, and Mezo see that they are right in front of Dabi, Himiko Toga, and Twice. [51]
Dabi throws his flames at the students, allowing Mr. Compress to escape. Shōto manages to dodge the flames, but Izuku and Mezo do not. In an instant, Twice appears behind Shoto and attacks him, but Shoto blocks the attack with his ice. Shoto continues to hold Twice until Mezo reveals that he took Mr. Compress' marbles.
As Izuku and Shoto rush to Mezo's defense, Kurogiri arrives and blocks his path. After Himiko, Twice, and the armed Nomu retreat through the portals, Mr. Compress reveals that the marbles that Mezo took are not the captured students, but decoys. The marbles that Mezo had in his possession are transformed into ice. The villain removes his mask and sticks out his tongue, revealing the real marbles. Behind a bush, Yuga Aoyama fires his Navel Laser at Mr. Compress' face, causing him to spit out the marbles. Izuku, Mezo, and Shōto rush to grab them. Mezo takes the one containing Fumikage. Shoto is almost within reach of the marble containing Katsuki, but Dabi catches him first, taunting Shōto. Mr. Compress deactivates his Quirk, freeing Fumikage and Katsuki. Shoto and the others watch as Katsuki is teleported with the villains. [52]
Fight
Moonfish attacks Shoto with his Quirk and he protects himself using his ice. The villain breaks Shōto's ice and nearly hits Katsuki, and is again intercepted by the ice. He warns Katsuki not to use his Gift of Blast due to it being able to ignite poison gas and cause more chaos, which is a major annoyance to Katsuki. Moonfish continues to attack the ice defenses, while using Don to maneuver around. Shoto analyzes that backing away is not possible, as they will be trapped in the gas and concludes that he and Katsuki are in trouble. [49]
Shōto is unable to fight properly while carrying Kosei. He does everything he can to keep Moonfish at bay by blocking his path with ice. Katsuki is furious that he can't defend himself, wanting to cause a huge explosion to stop the villain, but Shōto advises him not to. Suddenly, Mezo and Izuku arrive running towards Katsuki and Shoto. Mezo asks one of them to make light. Before he can explain further, Moonfish senses the presence of the students and prepares to attack them. However, Dark Shadow appears and uses his massive claw to crush the villain, destroying his teeth. Shoto and Katsuki look on in amazement.
School trip
School Trip Arc A day after the incident at the mall between Izuku and Tomura, Shota informs Class 1-A that the destination for the school trip has been changed. On the day of the trip, Class 1-A boards the bus that will take them to camp. An hour later, the bus stops to take a break.
