From childhood, the lives of some children from orphanages were hellish. The most talented or remarkable were recruited by coaches, who signed contracts with the orphanage director. The coach didn't become a parent, but he had the right to pick up the child from the orphanage at any time, force them to train or work, and take them to competitions. Seungmin was such a child.
Seungmin was orphaned at age 12. His father, a drunk, died in a car accident when he was six, and his mother died of a stroke. The loss of his parents greatly frightened the boy, but it didn't sadden him in the least. As a child, they had beaten and ignored him, sometimes even going days without food. Now that hell was over, and child protection services had taken him to an orphanage.
Things were pretty bad at the orphanage, too, with constant beatings and humiliation. But they fed him every day. Some time after his arrival, the children were given the chance to choose a creative field in which they would like to develop. And Seungmin got the chance to become a figure skater, to realize his childhood dream.
However, things weren't so simple. He was assigned a coach and training began. The coach was focused on perfection, so Seungmin had to work hard. He began winning competitions. At another competition, he fell while jumping and sprained his ankle. It was his first serious injury. While he was recovering, he received news that his coach had abandoned him. And he was the only person Seungmin trusted and valued at all. It was painful...
