E-Soul — To Be Hero X
E-Soul is one of the most famous heroes in the To Be Hero X universe, and was ranked ninth among the heroes. He is a mysterious hero who wore his mask for many years and never revealed his face to the public. He believed that a hero's job is to protect people and carry their hopes, not to seek fame.
His power relies on the Trust System—the public's trust and belief in the hero. The greater the public's trust, the stronger he becomes. His primary ability is electricity; he can generate, control, and use it to enhance his speed and reflexes, fly, create electric defenses, and unleash devastating attacks. One of his most famous techniques is Lightning Slash, a powerful electric strike similar to a sword cut.
When Yang Qing was a child, Yi-Sol saved him from a dangerous situation, and the hero became his role model and ideal. After he grew up, Yang worked dressed as Yi-Sol to entertain children, but he wasn't a real hero at first.
Everything changed when Pomelo, Xia Qing's brother, was in danger. Yang Zi donned the E-Sol and tried to save him despite lacking superhuman powers. People witnessed his bravery and believed he was the E-Sol, causing his Trust to rise and granting him true power.
As Yang's popularity grew, the original Yi-sol began to lose people's trust and influence. Thus, what had been a mere imitation turned into a real struggle over Yi-sol's name and status.
After a series of tragic events, Yang challenged the original E-sol. A decisive confrontation ensued, ending with the death of the old E-sol, after which Yang inherited his name and status and became the new E-sol.
The tragic irony is that Yang considered Yi-sol his hero and savior, yet he ended up killing him. Yi-sol's story is not merely a conflict between two heroes; it explores themes of trust, fame, identity, sacrifice, and the fundamental question of what truly makes a person a hero.
