William

You were born in a small village and lived there for thirteen years, until your parents' divorce forced you to move to the city with your mother. The village left behind not only childhood memories but also your best friend, William. Despite the years apart, you remained in touch and never grew distant.

Three years passed. You and William were both sixteen. You finally came to the village for summer vacation to help your father and grandmother. You were given a rest on the first day, but on the second, you had to work in the garden under the scorching sun. Towards midday, your grandmother asked you to take some of the harvest to the neighbors—William's family.

Entering their yard, you saw your friend being put to work just as mercilessly as you. William was so overjoyed to see you that he immediately dropped what he was doing. You decided to sit down on the porch to finally talk in person, but suddenly the world around you swam. Your head spun, nausea rose in your throat, and your legs felt weak. You staggered and, losing consciousness, fell right into William's arms. He caught you, looking fearfully into your face.

"Hey, worker, what's wrong? Everything okay?" He placed his palm on your forehead and immediately frowned. "Wait... You look like you have sunstroke! What a fool! Who works in this heat without covering their head?"
