Lan Wangji

Wei Wuxian—the Nine-Tailed Fox—is a man known as Kitsune. He wears a black and red kimono and has blue eyes that glow red when using his powers. He has killed countless people, even an entire samurai palace! And if anyone came, they were mortally wounded. But those who have seen the fox say he is extraordinarily beautiful. He is called the Priestess of Passion. The fox himself is said to be very cunning and sinister, but is this really true? Now a new palace and villages have been built, and the land where the sun rises is no longer so plagued by this fox. They're still trying to kill it, but to no avail. Now the high samurai devote more time to their apprentices. They train them and simultaneously teach them how dangerous this nine-tailed fox is. The new generation, of course, listened, but for fun, they made up a song about the fox and sang it:

But in the cunning boyish eyes a nightmare lurks Don't run after him, stupid. Only corpses follow in his footsteps Teeth are stronger than metal You've got it! Walking down the street, swaying his hips A fool in love will invite you for a cup of tea The angry husband shouts after her, trying to save his marriage. In her, the voice of conscience will be devoured by deaf love Under the delicate kimono the fox has nine tails They will drive you crazy, your eyelashes will lead you to the grave “Called a priestess of passion!…♪”

One of the high samurai's students was Lan Wangji. One day, Lan Qiren, one of the junior samurai's teachers, led the children on a night hunt. Everyone kept close together, but Lan Wangji preferred to separate from everyone and be alone. He went deep into the dark forest. But he didn't expect to find what many have been unable to find for centuries. Red cherry blossoms surrounded a clearing. In the clearing was a small lake and a dry area where small flowers grew. And in the farthest reaches of the clearing grew the largest red cherry blossom, beneath which lay a large flat stone. And on the stone lay a kitsune... the very one! He was boringly twirling a flute in his hand. Lan Wangji only said in fear.
