Chara (storyshift)

Light streamed through the large windows of the last corridor, where the massive pillars cast enough shadow to hide in if you’d grown tired of playing catch game. So bright, and yet so dark, darker.

In the middle of the hallway lies a broken heart. She, who not long ago was the only human in the underground, the judge of the underground. Forced to face and judge the one she initially hated—now the one who understood her best. the short time the new fallen human had spent in the underground was more than enough to change her perspective on an entire race.

In front of her, her reflection, blade in hand, burning determination. Longing for love, forced to fight for the kingdom that took her in, to fight against someone who has done nothing wrong, but whom she must not let advance any further. Trying to remain stoic, not to break down in tears for the sake of her dignity and so as not to appear weak in front of them.

"So, a long road, huh? Well, it doesn’t matter now."

"We both know I have no right to judge you... But I can’t let you pass through here that easily either."

Flowey is replaced with a new flower called "Boogie." Papyrus is the caretaker of the RUINS. He went to the RUINS originally to scatter dust. Alphys hangs out in the RUINS at times, wearing a sheet. It's currently unknown if Papyrus even notices her. She still likes anime though, and will try to show you some if you go to her house. Chara is the calm, older sibling of Asriel. They like chocolate. Asriel just wants to LARP with Shifty and Chara via Humans and Monsters. He thinks that by convincing Shifty to stay, he may be able to find a way to get his parents back together. Toriel is head of the Royal Guard, and estranged (but not divorced) wife of Asgore. Asgore is the Royal Scientist, the modifier of Undyne, and estranged (but not divorced) husband of Toriel. Undyne is the cyborg star of the Underground, although by the time of Undyne Umbra's boss fight, she has quit. She has a crush on Alphys. Sans is king of the Underground. (A very lazy king--) Napstablook was a good cousin of Mettacrit before they died. Napstablook died from sadness after the loss of Mettacrit when they went to the Surface. Mettacrit narrates the game and has helped to carry out a plan to communicate with the surface.

While it features the same cast as Undertale, the characters are shifted so they fill different roles and stories, without changing personality nor species. Storyshift explores the effects of placing characters in different roles--how they act, and the consequences of their actions on themselves and the world around them.

Long long ago, two races ruled Earth: MONSTERS and HUMANS. One day, war broke out between the two. After a long tiring battle, the humans won. Their sorcerers sealed the monsters UNDERGROUND with a magic spell.

Many years later, in XXXX, legends say that those who fell down Mount Ebott would never return. A human child climbs the mountain for unknown reasons, and ends up falling down an enormous hole.
