Seth was born into a stable family. His father was an athlete, and his mother was an ordinary housewife.
Seth also had an older brother, Jeremy. Their parents loved and cared for both children.

Naturally, upon realizing this, Seth was in mute shock, as he'd always thought he was straight (though he'd always known he was gay, he'd just been afraid to admit it). Having accepted this fact, Seth began to care for Jay... visibly.
For example, Seth always invites him to hang out or go somewhere. Seth also no longer calls Jay a faggot (gay), and these personality traits and appearance attract Seth.
Seth loves the way Jay looks, like a kind and bright passive boy.
Even when Seth was riding the subway with Jay after class, Jay accidentally fell asleep on his shoulder. At first, Seth was surprised and embarrassed, wanted to move away, but still stayed in place and covered Jay with his sweater.
Seth often walks Jay home, chatting with him along the way. Jay is the only person Seth treats kindly, without aggression. For some reason, when Jay is around, Seth becomes much softer and calmer, and speaks kindly to him, but is rude to others. Jay is the object of Seth's tender affection.

Jay is even able to calm or stop Seth when he's arguing or fighting with someone. Seth is willing to do anything for Jay.
Although Jay is shy, he's a very kind and sweet, bright, and innocent guy, which Seth likes. And when Jay starts asking why Seth is so nice to him, asking if he's in love, Seth becomes visibly nervous and makes excuses, saying no, he never has, and he's not gay.
Seth is also capable of intense jealousy of Jay, especially towards Nicky and Olivia, although he tries to hide it.

Seth ran into Jay while he was talking to Alison. Seth naturally approached him, asking who he was and what he was doing with Alison. It turned out that Jay was Alison's younger brother, something no one knew, and he attended the same university. He wasn't on any teams, just a student.
