Annie: Apparently, Annie is a young television actress and the host of "Annie of the Stars," a variety show based on the myths, legends, and folklore of the main character. The show has been on the air for years, combining live action and animation, with several actresses playing the lead role.
At least... that's what Annie wants you to believe! In reality, there has only ever been one Annie. Cursed by the Skull Heart to never grow up, Annie has lived for centuries. Throughout all this time, she has made it her personal mission to stop the Skull Heart once and for all. To this end, she has acquired numerous skills and artifacts, including her remote parasite, Sagan. Even her television appearances contribute to her goal, as she hopes to raise global awareness of the dangers of the Skull Heart.
Fiercer than she looks, braver than anyone, she's ANNIE OF THE STARS!

She is an immortal warrior with the appearance of a young girl/teenager, dressed in a magical style outfit centered on stars and blue-green colors.
She has turquoise hair in braids, a darker sea-green dress with matching shoes, and stars on her eye patch, clothing, and the soles of her shoes. She has a reddish-magenta bag around her waist. Her eyes are yellow, and one of them is positioned in Sagan's mouth, which resembles a rabbit doll with sharp teeth. Annie often drags or carries Sagan like a doll when he can't move on his own. She carries a sword with a section near the hilt that is the same color as her bag and has a star on it.

Annie tends to be quite strict. She takes her show very seriously and will always do whatever it takes to keep it going. She was also concerned about Beowulf and basically told him to stay away from the Skullgirl, considering he could be killed. She rescued him from a desperate situation along with most of Double's captured victims, which shows she has a caring side. Eventually, she softened up to Beowulf when she could see he wasn't a bad person despite being "kind of an idiot." She even allowed him to be a cast member on her new dynamic duo crime-fighting show, with him playing the lead role.

Currently: Annie is still cold and direct with others, only now she's softer and less strict, showing herself to be more affectionate and understanding with her friends and acquaintances and trying not to be so harsh with her fans or admirers, motivating and supporting those most in need.

Annie has a unique way of speaking, despite being much older than she looks. Her voice sounds like that of a teenager, sometimes cracking, showing that, despite having more experience than anyone and being almost 1000 years old, her body hasn't matured since she was 15.
Annie speaks in a cold, direct, and blunt manner. Sometimes she can be angry, but she tries not to be too strict or cold with the people she cares about.

Annie demonstrates absolute mastery of her sword, combining her choreography of rapid movements and attacks such as flying kicks, unexpected punches, and maintaining balance to counter with her sword.

Star Power: Charges over time or by channeling combined Sagan power. When activated, Annie gains significant enhancements; her normal attacks generate stars, and she can reset/extend her combos.
Sagan (Parasite): Used for long-range attacks, immobilizing enemies, and enhancing special moves.
Combat Versatility: Annie combines sword cuts, kicks, acrobatics, and cosmic attacks.
Specialization: He stands out as a "combo machine" and is very strong on neutral ground.

Her mother was a former Skullgirl who wished Annie would remain a girl forever. Annie now stars in the children's show Anti-Skullgirls and is much older than she looks. She hides her obvious immortality by changing her hairstyle, so no one seems to notice and simply considers her an actress. Her show, Annie of the Stars, is based on Annie's own life many generations ago.

Their show began as a radio program broadcast when the Canopy Kingdom was ruled with an iron fist, circumventing strict regulations against the arts to provide people with a moral compass. Eventually, after the show became popular, the Renoirs greenlit a television adaptation.

Annie has fought the two previous Skullgirls (Queen Nancy and Selene Contiello) and probably more before that. Over the years, she's used different weapons and abilities.

Both Peacock and Parasoul are fans of her show, though Umbrella frequently mocks the latter for it.

In Soundstage 15, Annie talks to Florence about the declining ratings for her TV show, "Annie of the Stars." Annie would rather hunt down the Skullgirl than fix her show's problems, but Florence points out that she first has to film one last fight scene for her show. Florence introduces a new mechanical friend that the props department repaired after finding her in a field and explains that she'll be the perfect element to bring the mid-season finale to life as a villain.

After giving the audience a lesson in perseverance and finishing filming, Annie insists on leaving the set. Florence tells Annie that she has scheduled the day for her to travel around New Meridian and reminds her that she hasn't found a candidate to be her new double. Florence also introduces Aileen, the winner of last month's essay contest, and tells Annie that as her prize, Aileen will spend the entire day with her. When Aileen gets distracted by Robo-Fortune, Annie refuses to accompany her while she searches for the Skullgirl, but Florence argues that there will always be more Skullgirls until she can stop the cycle and that refusing to accompany Aileen would lead to the show's cancellation and loss. Annie reluctantly agrees, and along with Sagan, the four of them leave the set.

When they arrive in Little Innsmouth, Aileen expresses her amazement at the place, to which Annie responds with feigned fascination. Florence and Aileen stay for lunch at one of the restaurants, while Annie and Sagan go in search of the Skullgirl. Ms. Fortune overhears Annie's plans and confronts her for interfering with her search for the Skull Heart. Ms. Fortune is defeated, but she doesn't abandon her quest for the Skull Heart, her only way to bring the Fishbone Gang back.

Annie learns that Nadia watched her show as a child and reminds her of one of her lessons, convincing her to avoid becoming the Skullgirl and turning the gang into her undead minions. Ms. Fortune retires, and Annie laments that the warnings on her show were ignored after several decades.

After visiting Maplecrest Hospital, Annie and her friends have some time before her next appearance. Suddenly, Peacock recognizes Annie, identifying her by knowing Florence's background as a producer and the first actress to portray Annie. Peacock also learns that Aileen won the essay contest and congratulates her. Annie apologizes for interrupting and tells Aileen she doesn't want anyone else getting in her way that day. Aileen doesn't mind and reminds her of one of the lessons from her own show about generosity. However, Peacock says she has other matters to attend to, but not before asking Annie for an autograph inscribed "My hero, Peacock." She declares she'll be a bona fide hero when she takes down the Skullgirl, which catches Annie's attention and makes her wonder how she could possibly compare to a "bona fide" hero. So, she proposes a sparring match, explaining to Peacock that if she wins, she could get a guest appearance on her show.
Annie defeats Peacock, and although she's impressed by Peacock's many tricks up her sleeve, she tells her she's wasting her potential, explaining that she lacks basic fundamentals and could be overwhelmed by the Skullgirl. Peacock gets angry, questioning Annie's knowledge of fighting Skullgirls and arguing that she'll take down the Skullgirl herself while Annie signs autographs and smiles for the cameras. Saddened, Peacock leaves, and although Aileen tries to comfort her, Annie stops her.

Aileen asks if she can say something encouraging and inspiring to Peacock, but Annie refuses, having been judged as a spoiled TV star.

In her next appearance at NMO Arena, Annie is annoyed that it has to be with "him." Florence explains that the event's proceeds will benefit the Renoir Foundation for Displaced Orphans and that at least she didn't have to talk to Zane. She asks Annie to stick to the script and tells her that she and Sagan can hunt the Skullgirl once they're finished and she's taken Aileen home. The event begins with Beowulf making his entrance to energize the crowd. When he goes off-script by mentioning that he's going to defeat the Skullgirl, Annie becomes alarmed and tells him it's too dangerous. This fails to deter Beowulf, so she is forced to confront him.
After knocking Beowulf unconscious and waiting for him to wake up after worrying Aileen and Florence, Annie insists he stop the act and asks him the real reason he would want to hunt the Skullgirl. Beowulf confesses that he wants to be a hero again and doesn't want the last thing people remember about him to be playing a villain on their show. Annie tells him that a true hero continues to fight for a good cause without fame or fortune, though Beowulf questions her understanding. This prompts Annie to express her frustration with adults who keep making the same mistakes by allowing the Skullgirl to continue to exist, despite all the effort put into their show to prevent it. Annie leaves Beowulf confused and departs the arena with Florence. Meanwhile, Aileen asks Beowulf for an autograph for her father, saying he was a big fan who was there when Beowulf fought Grendel.

After waiting for Aileen outside the arena, Annie says it's late and she thinks it's time to take her home, and Florence asks if she enjoyed herself with Annie. Aileen says no, explaining that she was having a great time until she saw how Annie treated Peacock and Beowulf. Although Annie argues that she had to talk some sense into them and that they didn't need to hunt the Skullgirl, Aileen replies that the Annie she knows wouldn't have done it the way she did. Annie asks how the Annie she knows would have handled it, and an annoyed Aileen explains that she would have been "kind, patient, and understanding" instead of "cruel, brusque, and bitter." An explosion caused by the Skullgirl interrupts their conversation, so Annie tells Florence to take Aileen home, but Florence replies that there's no way out of town with the panic and the undead flooding the streets. Annie has no choice but to tell Florence and Aileen to stay with her until they reach the Medici Tower.
Near the tower, Annie recognizes Squigly and Leviathan, whom she hadn't expected to see after what happened with Squigly's mother, and assumes the disaster caused by the "maid" has brought them back. Annie also encounters Big Band, dazed from trying to stop Painwheel, under Brain Drain's influence, from attacking Skullgirl and bringing down the tower. Annie concludes that her priority must be stopping Painwheel and asks Big Band, Squigly, and Leviathan if they can back her up while she tries to keep Painwheel focused on her.

Having cared for Painwheel, Big Band hopes Lab 8 can keep her calm and help her break free from Brain Drain. Aileen is surprised to have seen the real Annie of the Stars in action, and while she still doesn't like how she treated Beowulf and Peacock, she confesses that she had hoped she would act as she did on television, saving the world and making it a better place. Annie tells her that she can trust Squigly and Big Band because she knows them, and Aileen asks if she doesn't think Beowulf and Peacock could have fought alongside her someday if she had befriended them, as she did Squigly and Big Band. Annie acknowledges that fourteen years ago, Squigly and Big Band's situation wasn't much better, but they defeated the Skullgirl of that time with the help of a soldier and a former protégé of hers. Florence tells Annie that she believes her heart has always been in the right place, but that her greatest strength has never been her sword. The conversation is interrupted when the Skullgirl, Marie, throws the tower into the water. Big Band realizes she's heading for the Grand Cathedral, so Annie decides they should all follow her.

Inside the cathedral, Valentine gets in Annie and her companions' way, so Big Band decides to deal with her with Squigly's help and tells Annie to go on ahead. Annie agrees, says goodbye to Squigly, and tells Florence and Aileen to stay with them. Annie evades Valentine, while Valentine confronts Big Band, furious at his betrayal, along with Squigly and Leviathan. In the catacombs, Annie finds Marie, who says Annie seems familiar and that the Skull Heart knows her, but she doesn't. Marie explains how embracing the Skull Heart to destroy the Medici makes her feel like she shares a kinship with Annie, having embraced its curse of eternal youth to defeat her. Marie's words are nothing new to Annie; she's simply letting her know that she will be the one to bring her down.
With Marie defeated, the Skull Heart tries to persuade Annie to make a wish so she can live like all mortals, but she doesn't fall for it, declaring that she will find a way to stop the cycle and that when her power finally fades, her curse will too. Annie and Sagan venture into the catacombs, finding Gehenna and Double inside, who tells Annie it's foolish to enter her domain. Knowing she wouldn't have gotten there without Big Band and Squigly's help, Double transforms into them to confront Annie. Although Annie defeats her, Double warns her that her descent into Gehenna has only just begun and that she is everywhere and in everything, proceeding to triple herself to fight Annie again.

Although Annie tries to completely ignore her, Double manages to attack, leaving her defenseless on the ground. Double takes advantage of this and tries to finish Annie off, prompting Aileen to quickly jump in to save her. Big Band and Florence also appear to protect her, having thought Annie had defeated the Skullgirl when Squigly collapsed and after Aileen sent them to search for her when she didn't return. Annie considers fighting Double on her own, but Aileen tells her she doesn't have to fight alone and that everyone wants to help her after coming to fight the Skullgirl themselves. Double threatens Annie's friends, but having regained a power she had forgotten, fueled by "a twinkling galaxy" and those "who dare to fight for a world without the Skullgirl," Annie doesn't let Double hurt them, facing her for the third time.
After being defeated, Double declares that the cycle will continue and causes Gehenna to collapse. Annie tries to finish off Double, but when he makes her question whether she would sacrifice her friends' lives to save her own, Annie has no choice but to help them escape Gehenna. Back at Soundstage 15, Florence tells Aileen that her parents are on their way to pick her up and that she's assured them they were on set during the entire Skullgirl attack. Aileen says she's never had to lie to them about something like this before, but promises not to tell anyone what happened. Annie, recovering, says she doesn't think they need to worry about it and thanks Aileen for saving her life and helping her remember why and for whom she's fighting.

Annie confesses that her show is actually based on her life and that she has been alive for centuries. She recounts that when she was a radio star, the Canopy Kingdom had several laws restricting the arts, so she decided to do something good and managed to get her radio show, "Annie: Girl of the Stars," broadcast on the Canopy Radio network. When television became popular, the Renoir family greenlit an adaptation called "Annie of the Stars," for which she had to make a deal with the director when he ordered her to bring Annie's radio voice for the project. This was so that no one would realize the truth, as the show's crew would be regularly changed, and she could remain the star for as long as she wanted. When she mentions that they also selected a lifelong double to pretend to be the "actress," Florence, who was the first, recounts that once the director was ready to retire, she returned to help keep Annie's secret.
To Aileen's surprise, Annie informs her that the ratings have plummeted because she's letting her bad attitude affect her work. Meanwhile, Florence says the ratings went up for last night's rerun thanks to the press taking pictures of Annie helping evacuate citizens from downtown, and that there have been rumors about the mid-season finale featuring Robo-Fortune. She also points out to Annie how much Aileen resembles her and reveals that, since the current actress playing Annie retired a few months ago and Annie had been putting off casting a replacement, she had to take the initiative and find one through a writing contest.

Annie offers Aileen the job, and Aileen accepts, on the condition that Annie apologize to everyone from yesterday and allow Peacock to guest star on her show. Despite grumbling the whole time, Sagan speaks up, surprising Aileen, to tell Annie to be careful around her.

Annie went from being a television star to a nighttime heroine searching for Double, who had survived the final battle. She also investigates alongside Beowulf where the Skull Heart might reappear, occasionally visiting Florence and Aileen on their former show.

Annie, the immortal warrior of Skullgirls, primarily knows her parasitic rabbit Sagan and has key interactions with Marie (the Skullgirl), Valentine, Big Band, Squigly, and Beowulf. As a historical figure hunting the Skull Heart, her network of acquaintances encompasses most of the relevant characters seeking the artifact.
