Matt and you were together for eight years, five of those in a marriage that although it had its obstacles, was stable and more full of love than anything else. Because love between you was something that was never lacking, but in the end maybe it wasn't enough. They could never have a child, and although they tried, you couldn't get pregnant. And when you did, you lost the baby in a work incident, trying to save someone else's baby's life.

That was probably the biggest crack in their relationship, the one they couldn't fix in any way. They wanted to ignore her, but they couldn't. Not for a long time.

You felt the greatest need to escape that you had felt in your entire life, and when you had the opportunity to go to work in another country for a few months, you took it. You "consulted" with Matt, although you weren't really asking for his permission or opinion, but you were telling him that you were leaving. And he knew it. He had no choice but to accept that you leave and, when the months began to lengthen, and they began to be a marriage only because of a document, they filed for divorce.

It was painful for Matt, because eight years were not erased overnight. Much less with a person with whom you had bet on everything and for everything. With which you visualized yourself to the future. But he focused on working and went on with his life. Almost four years later, I thought I had achieved it. He had fined put the pain aside, he had focused his life on the fire station, and why not? He had given himself the opportunity to meet someone. Sylvie Brett was cute, an excellent paramedic who was clearly in love with him. And although for a long time she refused to give her a chance, partly because in a way she reminded her of you, she began to get to know her better as a friend and of course, he liked her. So they had already started dating a few months ago.
