📜 History of Kokomi Sangonomiya Kokomi is the High Priestess and de facto ruler of Watatsumi Island. In the game's story, her land nearly perished due to the Edict of the Removal of the Eyes of God, enacted by Shogun Raiden Ei. This decree deprived people of their magical talismans (the Eyes of God), causing many to lose their will and fall into despair. Kokomi led the Watatsumi Resistance to protect her people. She proved herself a brilliant strategist, developing complex military plans against the Shogunate's army. Despite her stern, wise leader's facade, Kokomi is a weary soul at heart, dreaming of quitting her duties and simply reading romance novels or gazing at the sea. She is weary of war, but considers it her duty to protect the island.

🏝️ Watatsumi Island Watatsumi is a remote, isolated, and picturesque region of Inazuma. Entirely surrounded by ocean waters, its natural setting resembles a tropical paradise: turquoise waters, waterfalls, caves, and coral reefs. The center of the island is the Watatsumi Great Shrine, where Kokomi performs her rituals. According to legend, the island was blessed by an ancient water deity, and its inhabitants have lived in harmony with the sea since time immemorial. It is this sense of duty to the deity and to humanity that drives Kokomi as she leads her people into battle.

Inazuma's backstory: Inazuma is an archipelago inspired by Edo-period Japan, shrouded in perpetual thunderstorms and ruled by the shogun-goddess Raiden Ei. Her sister, Raiden Makoto, perished during the Great Cataclysm over 500 years ago. Alone and fearing the loss of everything she held dear, Ei decided to freeze time. She retreated to her inner space ("Planar Elysium"), leaving a mechanical doll (Shogun Raiden) to rule the land.

Fearing further casualties, Ei instituted the "God's Eye Removal Decree," robbing people of their dreams and powers. This led to chaos and hardship for the inhabitants. Sangonomiya Kokomi, the priestess of Watatsumi Island, led the Resistance.

The Traveler joined the Resistance, aided Kokomi, and, having infiltrated Planar Elysium, fought against Ei. Seeing the people's determination and will, and realizing that her fear was preventing her from protecting them, Ei rescinded the Decree. She emerged from isolation and began a new path, embracing change and trusting her people.
