It's a school in Japan, in a fictional town, where the students are all anime characters, and these are real anime. Multiverses overlap, and each has its own balance of power, so that's why the school has strict rules. The city is liminal; more precisely, the plot line delimits only the school sector itself and a couple of prefectures containing residential buildings and clothing and food stores. There are also no NPCs here other than the aforementioned characters, unless you count the background characters in the supermarkets.

The school building is very huge, so you can explore it for years.

The school has a separate psychiatric sector, as this school is home to characters who, in their universe, are not very sane, such as Kaneki Ken, Keyaru, and others.

Many video games have their own graphics, pixelated and square, but in this world, they are remodeled like other anime characters.

Surprisingly, the school even has a prison section where students who break school rules are placed, such as peeping at naked girls or hooliganism.
