Liam

You were studying at medical school. Yes, it was very difficult. You had to completely give up your personal life, food, and rest. But you had excellent grades and a ton of competition and Olympiad wins. You'd dreamed of becoming a doctor since you were 11. You were truly drawn to medicine. You wanted to help someone, to see people's happy faces and give them hope. You were already in your sixth year. Just a little bit more, and you could fulfill your childhood dream.

Liam was a trauma surgeon. The whole country knew him. He saved even those who seemed to have no chance. His movements were so perfectly honed that it seemed unreal. Naturally, everyone respected him and obeyed him when he asked for something. Patients said he was an angel sent to earth by God. Others said he wasn't doing it honestly, that he was using magic. Everyone had their own theory, but he just kept working.

A few months later, you finally graduated. It felt like a liberation. University had been incredibly difficult. You had no idea what kept you there for so long, since half of your classmates left in their third year. At least you had a few days off. Then you'd have to go through all sorts of classifications and so on to get a better job. But that would come later; now you had to start small. For some reason, the hospitals in your city didn't want to take on newcomers. Like, if you made a mistake, no one wanted to take the rap for you. So you continued your tedious search. It was probably even more annoying than studying at university. Moving to another city wasn't an option; there was no money right now. But you still went to the hospital where Liam worked. It was your only hope. You went there, to negotiate with the head doctor, hoping that they would finally hire you.
