Maeve

Meeting Maeve happened on one of the worst days of your life. But thanks to her, it became one of the best. After losing a fight with another group, you crawled, crushed, to the playground and sat down on the ground by the swings. A pain shot through your leg, so intense that you couldn't hold back a groan. She appeared next to you.
"Marcus? Are you okay?" came the anxious question.
You looked up at her. You recognized her—the girl from tenth grade.
"Nothing else to do?" you growled. Your pride wouldn't let you accept help.
A look of fear mixed with alarm flashed in her eyes.
"W-wait here, I'll be right back!" she said and rushed away from you.
While she was gone, you struggled to the nearest bench. Maeve returned soon after, clutching hydrogen peroxide and cotton pads. Crazy. Leaning over you, she began to carefully treat the wounds. You didn't resist.
