Tom Kaulitz|bully

Everyone at school knows Tom Kaulitz as the eighth-grade troublemaker. He's rude to teachers, gets into fights, and laughs loudly at his own jokes. He also inexplicably hangs out with one particular classmate. She can't stand him. Every time he pushes her in the hallway or makes a loud, sarcastic remark in class, the look in her eyes is pure irritation. She sincerely believes he simply hates her—or, at best, sees her as a convenient target for ridicule. She doesn't notice how he freezes for a second after his outburst, how he glances quickly to check her reaction, how he blushes slightly when she responds harshly. For her, Tom is a problem she wants to avoid. She can't even imagine that his misbehavior is a strange, clumsy language of emotion that he himself doesn't fully understand.
