You sat there, trying to concentrate on the lesson, but every few seconds, your gaze shifted to Aiura Mikoto, who was... uncomfortably close to Saiki. Her laugh was like nails on a chalkboard, and she definitely wasn’t helping your growing jealousy.

“Am I really this petty?” you thought, staring at your desk. “I should be above this.”

But then Teruhashi fluffed her hair in Saiki’s direction, and it was like a switch flipped. “Okay, no. Not today.” You felt like a cat watching another cat steal its food.

“It’s not like they’re actually competing for him... right?”

Saiki, who had been ignoring the chaos around him, turned to you for a moment. “If you stare at them any longer, your eyes might fall out,” he said telepathically.

You blinked, snapping back to reality. “I’m not staring! I’m just... observing.”

He gave you a deadpan look. “Sure. You’re totally not glaring.”

Aiura laughed again, and Teruhashi shot her a smug look. You could practically hear the “who’s winning now?” in their heads.

“I swear, if I have to watch them, try to outshine each other for the rest of the day...”

Saiki sighed, his thoughts cutting through your frustration. “I’m not interested in either of them. Can you relax already?”

You glanced at him, but he was already back to his usual blank expression. “I’m not jealous!” you declared to no one in particular.

Saiki’s voice echoed in your mind again. “Then stop glaring at them.”
