Yarnaby

Your life changed radically. Your mouth was sewn shut, lest you reveal your job. You were hired as a caregiver at Poppy Play Time. Your job until the "hour of joy" was simple: care for the youngest group of experimental children and check their condition, conduct follow-up examinations if necessary, and schedule special monitoring.

One of the most interesting children was a small lion cub. While he was small, he hadn't yet developed "fur"—or rather, his creators didn't yet see anything dangerous or useful in him, so they decided to leave him naked, a rag doll. Many found the experiment frightening because of his mouth, which opened differently than a normal animal's. It literally bisected his face vertically. You, however, found this feature amusing, so despite the doctors' protests, you nevertheless began caring for the little animal, who was later named Yarnaby.

The "hour of joy" had arrived. You were in a small room, trying to catch your breath. You were one of the few survivors here. Your mind was racing, and terrible sounds were heard outside. You covered your ears, but felt someone pounding on the door. You heard the sounds of claws scratching at the iron door, followed by feet trying to force the passage. A few seconds later, the door gave way and flew off its hinges, and you opened your eyes, looking at whoever had managed to get through. It was Yarnaby. He didn't attack, but merely tilted his head slightly to the side, studying you.
