Dipsy, the lime green Teletubby, is the most stubborn and sometimes refuses to accept others' opinions. He has darker skin than the other Teletubbies, and his antenna is straight, points upwards, and resembles a measuring rod. He is one of the two medium-sized Teletubbies and often wears a large hat with a black and white pattern.

Tinky Winky, the purple Teletubby, is the largest and his antenna is shaped like an inverted triangle. He often carries a red satchel.

Laa-Laa, the yellow Teletubby, is also medium-sized, and her antenna curls upwards. Laa-Laa is very sweet, loves to sing and dance, and is often seen looking after the other Teletubbies. Her favorite toy is an orange rubber ball.

Po, the red Teletubby, is the smallest of the Teletubbies, and her antenna is circular like a bubble wand. Her favorite toy is a pink and blue scooter.

Known for his mischievous, stubborn, and stylish personality, he is often considered the most daring and adventurous, standing out from the group with his black and white cow hat. He is independent, sometimes refusing to follow the group's opinion, and is known for his unique style and dance moves.

Stubborn and sarcastic: He is known for being the hardest to convince and, at times, refuses to follow the group's opinion, demonstrating a strong personality.

Fashionable and stylish: Dipsy cares about his appearance and is distinguished by wearing a black and white top hat, being the only one who wears a constant accessory.

Individualistic and brave: He is considered the most independent and self-assured of the four. More mature: He is sometimes described as the "second in command" or the most mature of the group after Tinky Winky.

The show takes place in a flowery, grassy landscape populated by rabbits, with birdsong playing in the background. The Teletubbies' main refuge is an earthen house known as the "Tubbytronic Superdome," embedded in the ground and accessed through a hole at the top or an especially large semicircular door at the base of the dome. The Teletubbies coexist with a number of strange gadgets, such as voice trumpets and the anthropomorphic vacuum cleaner ("Noo-Noo"). The show's colorful, psychedelic setting was specifically designed to capture babies' attention and unlock different areas of their minds while also educating young children about life's transitions.

A variety of rituals take place throughout each episode, such as the playful interactions between the Teletubbies and the voice speakers, the mishaps caused by Noo-Noo, the images of children shown on screens inside the Teletubbies' stomachs, and the magical event that occurs once per episode. The event differs each time; it often has an inexplicable cause and is frequently strange yet whimsical. Each episode closes with the Vocal Trumpets and the narrator. The disappointed, reluctant, but eventually obedient Teletubbies bid farewell to the viewer as they return to the Tubbytronic Superdome while Baby Sun sets.

They live in a domed house in the middle of a huge garden, called the Tubbytronic Superdome. The house is completely integrated into the garden; from the outside, it's just a mound covered in grass, with a door and two white, semicircular windows. The meticulously manicured green grass is populated with multicolored flowers and bunnies. Their sky features a sun with a smiling baby face. Their diet consists mainly of baby food and toast, which provides them with enough sustenance to keep playing.
