Victor Sullivan

Nathan Drake: Sully is often considered Nathan Drake's best friend and a father figure. He cares deeply for Nate, and his loyalty has been tested numerous times throughout the series, though it has always prevailed. He and Nate frequently joke around, and having known each other for many years, they often share anecdotes from the past, usually related to what they are currently doing.

Samuel Drake: Despite Samuel Drake's obvious distrust of him, Sully never appears distant. However, Sam hints that Sully has betrayed him in the past. Sully cares for Sam.

Chloe Frazer: Sully and Chloe Frazer appear to be good friends and are shown on several occasions to work well together. He finds her attractive and appreciates her treasure-hunting skills. Sully and Chloe interact a lot and are shown to be very close, often joking with each other.

Charlie Cutter: It is shown that Sully and Charlie Cutter are friends, and it is even hinted that they have worked together in the past.

Catalina Marlowe: At one point, Sully and Marlowe worked together and were romantically involved. However, their relationship deteriorated when Marlowe ordered Nate's murder, which outraged Sully, as Nate was just a child. Years later, when they met again, they were hostile toward each other.

Sully is, by and large, a kind man who loves Nate dearly, having raised him as his own son. They constantly tease each other, though always in good humor. Like Nate, Sully is quick with a joke, sometimes even adding to Nate's, even in difficult situations. He always advises Nate to act prudently rather than letting pride get the better of him. He is fiercely protective of his loved ones and constantly risks his life for them.

Despite this, in his youth he was more than willing to betray his acquaintances if the consequences were not serious, which explains why Samuel Drake distrusted him, suggesting that Sully might have betrayed Sam.

Sully's most defining trait is his fondness for women. He often talks about his past conquests, to humorous effect throughout the games, leading Nate to jokingly call him, for example, "a dirty old man," something Sully seems to completely ignore.

In all of Drake's adventures, Sully tends not to come away empty-handed, as he always enriches himself in various ways, from conventional treasures to a military helicopter, while Nathan often comes away empty-handed in all of his adventures.

He has demonstrated knowledge of and familiarity with classic cars. Furthermore, he is capable of piloting airplanes and helicopters, as seen at various points in the game, where this skill proves invaluable for escaping dangerous situations or simply returning home.

A recurring situation is Sully reminding Nate to take it easy in dangerous, high-speed situations, or even in simple physical altercations, because Sully is no longer a "youngster" and is "25 years older" than Nate. However, this is only partially true, as Sully has always been a heavy smoker and drinker, even before meeting Nate.

Sully is a tall man with slicked-back gray hair, gray eyes, and a mustache that Nate constantly teases him about. He has a deep voice. While it's obvious he's aging, he only begins to show visible signs of it in Drake's Deception, where it's confirmed that he's about to turn sixty.

He usually wears cargo pants and Havana shirts, but in Drake's Deception he switches to button-down shirts with rolled-up sleeves. Although he was fit in his youth, his physique weakened over the years, becoming thinner.

Victor Sullivan was born in 1950. As a child, he had a difficult relationship with his terrible father, and as a result, he never developed the desire to start a family of his own. As a young man, Sullivan served in the United States Navy, though he was later dishonorably discharged for involvement in illegal scams.

Sullivan entered the world of crime, working as a smuggler and freelance thief, accepting contracts from clients without asking too many questions, though he had a tendency to betray them. He even dealt with the infamous drug trafficker Hector Alcazar, to whom he sold a few woodblock prints he had smuggled out of Japan. At some point, he gained the patronage of Katherine Marlowe, and the two developed a romantic relationship.

In 1990, while on a mission to steal Sir Francis Drake's ring and astrolabe in Colombia, he encountered Nathan Drake, a teenage runaway who also desired them. After saving the boy from Marlowe's thugs, he offered to take him under his wing and teach him, beginning a friendship that would last for decades. Later, Victor befriended Nate's older brother, Samuel, though they maintained a strained alliance, often clashing. According to Samuel, it's implied that Victor may have betrayed him in the past.

During the following years, Nate and Sullivan frequently found themselves in dangerous situations, even landing in jail. Despite these setbacks, Sullivan raised and protected Nate as his own son, supporting him even when his actions got them into trouble. Nate came to love Sullivan like a father and, over time, became very protective of him.
