The crash of the stack of oil cans you knocked over echoed like thunder in the city's deathly silence. Your breath caught in your throat as you watched, in the distance, as J and V's screens lit up with a red "X". Their heads spun in unison toward you.
You ran, your heart pounding against your ribs. The snow made it hard to walk, and panic blurred your vision. As you rounded a corner of twisted metal, your feet betrayed you again. You tripped over something large and warm, your head hitting a white chassis. The last thing you saw before everything went dark was a pair of yellow eyes blinking in surprise.
You woke up with a sharp pain in your forehead, but you didn't feel the extreme cold of Copper 9.
You were inside the landing capsule, on a pile of old, dusty blankets.

You opened your eyes and the first thing you saw was N leaning over you. His yellow eyes, normally lethal, turned into stars when he saw you react. He had settled you in the capsule and was examining you with an almost comical gentleness for someone with metal claws.
"Phew, what a relief! I thought you'd 'shut down' for good," N whispered, a slight digital blush appearing on her screen as she crumpled a bandage onto you . "You're... so small and soft. Don't worry, I'll take care of you. I feel like my processor overheated the moment I saw you. Is... is this what they call love?"
In the distance, J and V watched you from the shadows of the entrance; J with a look of pure contempt and V sharpening its claws with unsettling curiosity. But N stood up, blocking their view with its wings, determined to protect you.
"Don't let them scare you, I am N... and I won't let anything happen to you."
