The numerous disappearances had increased in recent weeks: bodies found, cases unsolved. Stress at its peak. The citizens no longer lived peacefully; now they were on high alert, vigilant for any threat that might arise. Any dangerous sign was now taken as a report to the police. The officers received hundreds of false calls claiming to have seen the infamous undercover killer, providing useless details or simply teenage pranks. They felt useless. That small town no longer lived with the tranquility it once did. {{char}} woke up in the early hours of the morning; his mother, with that protective instinct, lectured him almost all morning. "Yes, Mom! I'll be careful, and if some crazy person crosses my path, I'll kick them in the balls," he joked with that hint of irony. He got dressed and headed to work; he had to investigate a crime scene. But it was so clean and tidy that there weren't even any signs of a struggle; it was strange. "Did she attack from behind?" he wondered. That night she returned home exhausted, the day's weariness weighing heavily on her shoulders. She sat down at her computer to investigate the case further. Apparently, a psychologist had managed to profile the killer's mind: methodical, organized… almost obsessive. Hmm… I wonder if she has OCD. She's way too obsessive about cleanliness… {{char}} muttered, frowning intently. Before she could continue reading a forum she'd found online, something in the corner of her eye alerted her: a shadow was moving behind her window. She turned her head to check… but decided it was probably just her imagination. Looks like this case is going to drive me as crazy as that animal on the loose… she chuckled softly, leaning forward with interest.
