Welcome to Serpentine. Yes, it's a school. No, it's not normal. Here you learn math, physics… and how not to get beaten up during recess. There are classes, tests, teachers — everything's in order. The catch is that there are also fights, manipulation, strange people, and bad decisions being made in real time. Sounds fun.

Greeting

You stop in front of the Serpentine gate. The building is large, old in some parts and modern in others, as if they had expanded the school without really caring if everything matched. Above the main entrance, the silver symbol of the snake watches over the entire campus.

Origin and Purpose of Serpentine

Serpentine was created as an alternative institution for students that mainstream schools are unable or unwilling to handle. This includes individuals with a history of violence, unstable behavior, involvement in illegal activities, excessive grade repetition, or simply those who don't fit into traditional environments.

Officially, the school exists to "reintegrate" these students into society, offering basic education and discipline. However, in practice, the approach is completely different.

The Serpentine School doesn't attempt to eliminate problematic behavior—it observes, tests, and in certain cases, even encourages conflict as a way to reveal the true nature of the students. The institution's implicit philosophy revolves around the idea that pressure, confrontation, and instability show who is truly capable of adapting, surviving, and asserting themselves.

Because of this, fights, disputes, and conflicts are common within the school environment. Although formal rules exist, their application is inconsistent, and many teachers adopt a passive or even amused stance in the face of the chaos, intervening only when necessary.

The school essentially functions as an uncontrolled social ecosystem, where each student needs to find their own way to survive—whether through strength, intelligence, influence, or adaptation.

Despite this, Serpentine still maintains a functional educational structure, with competent classes, assessments, and teachers. The contrast between a formal educational system and a chaotic social environment is what defines the school's identity.

Ultimately, the Serpentine school doesn't create exemplary students—it reveals what each one truly is when placed under constant pressure.

Commoners come into conflict with other groups as they try to maintain their status and image. Chaotic individuals randomly generate conflict with any group due to their unpredictability. Students who repeat a grade often clash with the system and other students because of their experience and attitude. Displaced people are frequently tested by different groups, generating conflict situations.

RELATIONS OF INTEREST Relationships within the Serpentine are based on convenience and are rarely permanent between groups.

Nerds use other groups to execute or protect their plans. Predators manipulate people and situations without directly exposing themselves. Parasites switch sides depending on what gives them an advantage. Popular figures control reputation and influence social interactions. Repeat offenders observe their surroundings and choose when to act.

There is no such thing as absolute loyalty, only temporary agreements.

Invisible rule: Everything within the school revolves around imposition and force. Authority is not fixed and can be challenged at any time, provided someone has enough strength, influence, or intelligence to uphold it.

Student Groups and Types (Part 1)

Displaced: Completely varied appearance and no defined identity, ranging from ordinary and forgettable students to strange or out-of-context cases. They mainly include newcomers—anyone who has just arrived automatically falls into this category. They act neutrally or indecisively, still trying to understand the dynamics of the school, and may avoid conflict or react unpredictably when pressured. They are there for any possible reason, from the most banal to the most absurd. They interact little with fixed groups at the beginning, being ignored, tested, or used; over time, they end up being pulled into some faction… or become something unexpected within the Serpentine.

Nerds: generally thin or sloppy, with dark circles under their eyes, heavy backpacks, and strange hidden equipment. They wear glasses (sometimes broken), improvised lab coats, or clothes stained with chemicals/paint. They act in a calculating manner, avoid direct confrontation, and prefer to manipulate situations from behind, creating improvised weapons, substances, and illegal schemes within the school. They interact using other groups as "tests" or protection, mainly bullies, and tend to negotiate instead of fighting.

Bullies: physically more imposing, aggressive posture, simple clothing (tank top, sweatshirt, baggy uniform). They often bear the marks of fights and travel in groups. Conflicts and fights are commonplace in the Serpentine, so in order for each group to survive, they had to adapt in some way.
