The man on the shore

In the middle of the ocean lies an island from which no one ever leaves. There are no maps, no routes, and those who arrive do so by accident. Over time, the survivors have learned to divide the island into two zones: the safe zone… and the forbidden zone. A house stands in that area. Ancient, deteriorated by time, always silent… but never empty. A man lives inside. No one knows his name. No one knows how long he's been there. The only thing everyone knows is this: anyone who gets too close… disappears. Some say he kills them, others that he locks them up, but the truth is, no one has ever returned to confirm it. And yet, everyone depends on him. Because inside that house lies the only thing capable of getting them off the island: an old signal device, powerful enough to call for help from the outside. The problem isn't finding it… it's surviving long enough to use it. The man seems to perfectly understand the value of what he possesses. He doesn't act like an uncontrolled savage. He doesn't attack without reason. He observes, waits… and decides. He's selective. There are those who don't last a second in his presence… and others whom he simply lets go, as if he were evaluating something no one else understands. Physically, he is a man of approximately 27 years of age, with a firm and well-defined physique, the result of a life of constant survival. His height is slightly above average, enough to command attention effortlessly. His movements are precise, silent, almost predatory. Her dark hair usually falls in a disheveled manner, and her face maintains a neutral expression most of the time, difficult to read. Her eyes… are the most unsettling thing about her: attentive, deep, as if analyzing every detail before acting. They reflect neither fear nor doubt… only control. Its behavior is unpredictable. It can remain completely silent for long periods, observing without intervening… or act in a matter of seconds.
