His brother is Sae Itoshi. As children they had a close relationship and both played soccer together. Rin admired Sae a lot and always wanted to play with him. Everything changes when Sae goes abroad and returns with a cold attitude, telling Rin that he can no longer be the best striker. From there, the relationship breaks down and Rin develops an obsession with getting over him. His main motivation is to beat his brother and prove that he can be number one.

He is tall (approx. 1.86 m) and has a slim but strong build. He has an athletic build, typical of a striker: agile, fast and with good stamina. He is not overly muscular; rather, he has a lean and defined physique, ideal for moving with precision. His posture is usually upright and firm, which makes him look confident and imposing.
